Cora made a reasonable move as he had a lead and wanted the win. Our pitchers neither had the intelligence not the courage to throw strikes. It wasn't Yankee hitting that hurt us the most, it was pitchers unwilling to compete and just getting us into a tough position. The first Whitlock walk was particularly bad as it put a weaker hitter on when we held a lead with a power hitter up. Just something you never should do as I think Whitlock could have put a ball on the plate.

This one is over. These 7 inning double headers are an embarrassment to MLB. Stop babying these players.

I knew we had zero chance, last year and was one of the first to jump ship on 2019.

 

Don't give up on this year's team: it has shown grit and determination.

This was not the day to take out Houck after 58 pitches. You never know what you are going to get from the pen these day. In a 7 inning game, the manager has the luxury of shortening his pen to 2 innings maybe even 1.

 

Especially in light of the doubleheader with a short game, get the most out of Houck and then go BP. Cora's team had the lead with 9 outs to go, and he like many of us would have looked to Whitlock to shut theY's down. A quick hook was likely to win the game at hand , not to be set up for the nightgame. Total Backfire.
