It's an odd question when you've only been here a few months.

moon was definitely one of the more hopeful posters about the 2021 Sox toward the end when they looked like toast.

Yes, but I'm always wrong according to the washing machine.

I wasn't hopeful once the 2019 season got started. How wrong I was there, too.

I think all of the above.

I wonder if ownership just saw the cycle from 04 - 19 and wanted to get off the roller coaster. Maybe they thought there was a better way to compete year in and year out?

Is it being "stingy" or keeping long term payroll lower for "flexibility" and staying away from dead money (a la Price and Pedroia)?

It really makes sense from a business and a baseball standpoint.

If Max Scherzer needs TJ surgery at some point next season, it would cost the Mets roughly $80mill. That’s more money than the entire payroll of the team that had the best record in the American League last year…

It makes sense from a baseball standpoint as long as your talent can still keep you in the hunt every year. There is the chance that the Sox get left behind and become a 2nd tier franchise.

That would probably trigger the spending again, assuming Henry is still around.

I was talking about his lineups, trades, or signings.

Talking about lineups, trades and signings epitomizes talksox. It's what we do. Everyone is allowed to agree or disagree or ignore... or abhor (though that must be heavy to carry around).

If we get an ownership group led by Henry's kids, I'm out.

God forbid, someone sees a great defensive season by our CF'er and says, "He's the best defensive CF'er I've seen!"

Bring down the wrath of God, errr, I mean the washing machine!

No. None of that. We need more threads about politics. (Kidding in a major way.)

You are entitled to your opinion even if you are the only one that thinks like that, but God forbid if someone disagrees with you. I guess you just think that your opinion is only the right one.

Thin skin at its finest, and keep the name calling up. It’s hilarious.

It must be great to be an expert, but I don’t know how far polishing a turd will get you.

I hope it's a bit that can die a quick death.

LOL. Hard when it's stuck on the agitate cycle.

Must be nice to have a washing machine for a favorite toy, but going around the spin cycle to many times had made someone wishy washy.

Some people really enjoy a nice shaky washing machine.

C: Vaz, Plawecki

1B: Dalbec

2B: Arroyo, Arauz

3B: Devers

CF: Kike

RF: Renfroe, Rosario/Refsnyder?

DH: JD

Why did they non-tender Locastro?

I was wondering why the grabbed him in the first place.

I had him high on my first to DFA list.

Maybe this will be the most common line-up:

1. Kike

2. Devers

3. Bogey

4. JD

5. Verdugo/Renfroe

6. Renfroe/Verdugo

7. Dalbec

I read on MLBTR that this is Hill's 7th contract with the Sox.

Per B-R.com, he has signed seven contracts with the Sox, but this is his first one since 2015…
