I would like to see him be very mean to a few MLB baseballs this summer.

My dream line up assuming everyone hits on 6/21/21 (subject to change)

C ????

1B Casas/Dalbec/Devers

2B Chavis

SS Xander (assuming he stays)

3B Devers/Dalbec

LF Cordero (I love his power)

CF Duran

RF Verdugo

DH Devers/Dalbec/Casas (Assuming JD is gone)

Right now we're too right handed so adding Duran, Casas and Cordero will change the hitting composition.

Chavis over Arroyo?

No Renfroe love?

Casas is hitting .837 in AA, and a small sample size at that.

If every minor league player hitting .837 or better were called up on 6/21/21, there may not be any room for existing major leaguers.

I'm not sure what separates him from others hitting very well, right now.

I love the kid, and expect great things, too, but not every ,837 hitter is ready for the bigs.

I do like guys that can hit hard and long way. With Casas, we won't need Chavis at 1B as a backup or at 3B. He should be able to play LF.

Renfroe can be the 4th OF....keep them all fresh.

Dalbec hits the ball a very long way and has shown way more power than Casas.

Casas just turned 21 in January.

Here's a list of all the 20 year old batters in MLB with even 1 PA, right now:

_______

_______

_______

_______

Yup, zero.

Here's a list of all the 21 year olds in MLB with over 95 PAs, right now:

______

______

______

______

With over 20 PAs:

Jarred Kelenic (92) .378 OPS (not OBP- it's OPS!)

Tucupita Marcano (50) .485 OPS

Jose Devers (46) .621 OPS

Since 2011, there have been 31 players at 21 or younger who had 350+ PAs in a season. About half were over .800.

24 had 450+ PAs

Trout twice .963 and .988

Soto twice .923 and .949

Acuna twice .883 and .917

Stanton .893

Harper twice .854 and .817

Torres .820

Correa .811

Hosmer .799

Freeman .795

S Castor.773

Odor .781

Guerrero .772

Albies .757

Machado .746

Mazara .739

Devers .731

Heywood .708

Russell .696

Bogey .660

Is there anything about this list that screams out the Sox are holding back their best prospects, too long?

(It took Moncada 3+ years and over 900 PAs to start hitting well.)

If Franchy sucks and Bobby sucks, what is it that Santana does?

The first time you show up in weeks, and what's your first post?

I guess there are different kinds of fans, but to me, someone who spends way more time bashing players from the team he is a "fan" of, and who has bashed at least half the players on the team is not my idea of a good fan.

I get the "heat of the moment" argument, but to me, you go way beyond what any fan should do.

This team is over performing our wildest expectations, yet, you act like we were supposed to win 118 games and have a losing record, right now.

IDK, but it seems like it's going to be a struggle for Dalbec to get that OPS up to 721. His decreased BB rate is very concerning.

I keep waiting for the BBS, but maybe he needs to hit better, so pitchersfear throwing strikes for that to happen.

I am absolutely dumbfounded by the difference in his numbers between Boston and WOO. Yes, I understand that the pitching is not as good at the minor league level, but even with that being the case, this is a significant difference.

IMO, he's earned another shot, and Santana isn't helping us out any. Maybe with the lack of sticky stuff, Franchy will be able to hit major league pitching now.

I've heard that this year there is a significant gap in talent from AAA to MLB. Maybe due to excessive injuries post COVID?

Could be. I'd like to see what he does the second time around with the Sox. If he goes back to being a black hole, then we can attribute it to the pitching.

For what's worth the past week Franchy is sporting a .208/.208/.458 line. He seems to have cooled off a bit down on the farm.

And he looks terrible at the plate.

31% k rate in AAA isn't great...

FWIW, Duran is starting to catch up to him OPS wise. Duran is at 1.015 with Cordero cooling down to 1.111.

What I would do is call up Cordero and give him 2 weeks to see if he can rebound at all. If he can't, just DFA him off the 40 man roster. At that point, I'd call up Duran.

The reds are a game over .500 and have a terrible back end to their bullpen. Only 4 games from first place.

Their two corner outfielders are playing lights out, but depth looks a little thin!

Maybe we send Barnes and Cordero to the reds for minor leaguer pitcher Bryce bonin!

We are 1/2 game out of 1st and need Barnes. We need t find other ways to improve.
