With Boston’s 8-3 win over the Twins on Sunday, they clinched the spring series against their cross-town rivals and got to live out their childhood dreams of winning the Cup.

Don't sleep on the Red Sox! We are a sneaky good team.

Good news today: when houck has his control, he throws a great ball. Can ort duplicate his spring throws during the Season.

Bad news today: verdugo’s at bats have not not been great this spring.

I can't believe we are this close!

I am friggin pumped. Having game day threads back, sound of Red Sox announcers, wearing underwear for multiple days in a row!!!!! Let’s go!!!!!!!

Agreed. I think he’s gonna be a gooder.

Sox using what Cora calls "final alignment" of outfield today. Verdugo in left with Hernández in center and Renfroe in right. "We want to see how this one works," said Cora. #RedSox

So Bloom plucked 3 guys from the Yanks - Ottavino, Whitlock and Ort?

He saved them. Nobody wants to play for that gross franchise.

Final spring training game:

Red Sox vs. Braves (7 inn.): Hernández CF, Verdugo LF, Martinez DH, Bogaerts SS, Devers 3B, Renfroe RF, Gonzalez 2B, Dalbec 1B, Plawecki C, Pérez LHP

What kind of baseball team determines what your hair looks like and how you shave?

So they're going with Kike in center after all.

Finally. I don't think this is the lineup going forward though. This must be for a stadium with a large LF.

My thoughts exactly. Seems so ridiculous to me.

No wonder Ken Griffey JR said he would never play for that franchise.

I called him, the other day, and set him straight.

If this is the line-up with Vaz not Plawecki, I'd go with Arroyo and Chavis (not on 26 man roster) at 2B over Marwin.

I'd also bump Dalbec up to the 6 or 7 slot.

They prefer Dalbec at the end of the lineup. Would see more strikes as they won't want to walk him before the top of the lineup comes up.

It took him long enough to make the move. I think this is just a secondary lineup right now. I think the season will start with Cordero LF, Verdugo CF, Renfroe RF. Kiké probably won't play the majority of this games in the OF unless Downs is a monster in May/June.

Or maybe they wanted to look at Verdugo in CF for as many games as possible and finally decided it wasn't going to work?

Agreed, but I'd still prefer at least slightly more games in CF for EHern than 2B. The Cordero-Renfroe platoon in LF looks real good, to me. Cordero can play extra (non-platoon) games in CF when EHern is at 2B, and Renfroe can play some non-platoon games in RF as Verdugo rests- giving Cordero a few games in LF (off-platoon).

That could be it, right there.

Then there is Duran knocking on the door. Hit a HR and Double today and is a fine athlete. Chavis too is keeping the pressure on. The opening day guys know the competition is there so they need to perform.

Maybe? I agree that it won’t work from what little I’ve seen.

Duran’s defense is much further away than his bat.

Agreed, but if he keep hitting like a maniac, he'll be up sooner than later.
