Michael Wacha is a juggs machine these days. Last year that was Charlie Morton in their 4 spot.

They're still the defending champions and will be until someone else takes the title...

In his mind, the Yankees have already won the 2021 AL pennant. The book that is his mind starts with the conclusion and then talks about how we got there.

And it was the one thing he said that I agreed with...

The Rays are still good. They just happen to have a washed up bud toeing the rubber every 5th day

Which one? Hill? Wacha? Archer?

I've been saying for year, "Never count the Rays out."

Even when they trade their stars, they scrap together a winning team.

Why can't we get guys from their management team and do the same here?

Say that to the 2014 - 2017 Rays.

97 - 07: pretty sucky

08 - 13: pretty good

14 - 17: below .500

18 - 20: pretty good

21 - on: who knows???

So in a year they went to the WS, you rate them "pretty good". Tough judge...

I made a separate thread on it, but it’s intriguing since Cashman has made moves like this before and struck gold, but man is his stock low. The upside is there, but he needs his swing reworked. Way too much swing and miss. This seems to be strictly a move to counteract the tough righties later in games or to at least give a break against tough righty starters.

For IF depth, Urshela can play SS and so can Lemahieu, so it’s not like they don’t have internal redundancies there. If Odor was RH hitting, this deal wouldn’t have come together.

First of all, I wasn't saying it before around 2008-2009

From 2014 to 2017, they only had one season below 77 wins.

That's pretty awesome, going from 2008-2020 with just one sub 77 win team. That's one less than the Sox.

15 baserunners and only 3 runs. Very unclutch ABs by everyone except Urshela and Higgy. Gleyber booting more routine plays at short. 3 and a half hours wasted.
