Hopeless Hal should sell. Fire Cashman, Fire Boone, Fire Thames.

Here’s the mismanagement of the day.

German was magical. Gives up a double to lead off the 8th. I don’t fault Boone for bringing in Loaisiga. I absolutely fault him for letting Loaisiga face a fourth batter. He got smacked three batters in a row, why the fourth? Then his choice of Britton with 2nd and 3rd no outs up 1 shows a total lack of knowing his team. Britton doesn’t K people. He gets ground balls. And he did exactly that to give up the lead. You go to Green there. I know he’s a bit spooked, but he’s the guy who gets K’s and you needed a K

That's the one clear criticism I see. 3 straight hits and no outs recorded, you replace the guy, unless it's Mariano Rivera.

This is what happens when you’ve got a gutless sack of s*** leading the team. No accountability. Fire his ass

He looked so nervous in the dugout today. Like he was scared to lose because his job was on the line

I agree, but what I was thinking when he brought in Lowiseguy was he can't possibly be as effective after just throwing total gas last night. Green didn't pitch Saturday; they're humans.

Boone should have been fired long ago. He simply is not a good game manager. Loaisiga is just back from Covid , threw 20 pitches yesterday and was kind of fortunate to not blow that game. Green would have been a better choice unless he is still shell shocked from Thursday night. But Britton is a proven, experienced late inning reliever/closer. I don't think he blows a four run lead. Boone is confused and has lost his way.

Boone was never good. He's had a lot of talent.

He never had a "way" to lose.

This statement kind of demonstrates how difficult some of these decisions are. How is Boone actually supposed to know Green's state of mind? Is there a PTSD test he can give him?

Based on what, though? He made the playoffs his first 3 seasons. Not even AC did that.

He has had an enormous amount of talent.

He's made similar bad choices for years, but the team was good enough to win anyway.

Yes, Cora had talent in 2019, and if people wanna blame him for that mess, fine.

Boone has always sucked. He didn't just learn to suck, this year.

If so many Yankee relievers weren't suddenly sucking, Boone wouldn't be looking nearly as bad.

Maybe, but the offense is no parade, either.

Everything sucks this year. The pen was dominant, now it blows huge leads. The rotation was dominant, no it's got holes and guys like Nestor Cortes are starting. The offense was dominant, now Greg Allen and Ryan Lamarre are offensive fixtures. This team went to s***. The managing went to s***. The team building went to s***. Time to gut the admin team and start over

Odor has actually done much better than I expected, but when you traded for him to make him a permanent fixture, I knew there was trouble in Yankee Kingdom.

I think I'm just playing devil's advocate for something to do, if I'm honest about it.

One thing's for sure - I'm ecstatic that we have Cora and they have Boone.

If it makes you feel any better, I still think the Yankees make the playoffs. I no longer think they will win the division (not that I count them out either), but I do think they'll grab a wildcard.

100%. For me, it's not about the in game decisions, which, as you know, IMO make little difference. It's all about instilling confidence in the players and getting the ability to get the most out of them.

Let's see if they buy or sell.

Yanks dealt Cessa and Wilson. It’s a cost cutting move. Wilson’s cash next year was a problem so they had to add Cessa to sweeten the deal. They’re trying to maneuver space under the cap and just made the team weaker. f***ing stop worrying about the cap, you’re the Yankees not the f***ing Marlins

I don't think it is the start of a house cleaning. Probably just making some room for additions. I can't believe they are giving up at this point.

For the first time in I don't know how many years, I was hoping for the Yankees last night.

I couldn't do it. My kid, who's smarter than me, was all in, rooting against Tampa.

I warned him of the risks, changing the bummers back to summer... overall, it's just healthier to focus on the Red Sox taking care of their own business.

Yanks still in on Trevor Story. WHY?? Have we not learned out lesson with Colorado hitters? Story is the epitome of a Colorado hitter. Career OPS splits H/A of .971/.747. That is the difference between an elite player and an okay player. Do not fall into the trap of thinking this guy is a 30+ HR, 5WAR player here. The dead ball separated him out to being an average hitter, above average for the position, but certainly not someone to give a huge contract or spend prospect capitol on

Cole pitched better than his line would suggest, but overall he wasn't sharp. The only pitch he had working today was his fastball. Offense had chances early but didn't capitalize, and then just went to sleep for the rest of the game. Abreu (who was pitching in a spot where we would normally see Cessa) completely shat himself (0 outs recorded, 6 ER, 4 hits (3 of which were HRs), 2 BBs).

Weird stat, the Yankees have a .385 winning % during the day and a .623 winning % at night. And they also continue their ineptness when trying to finish a sweep.

Yanks looking to move Voit. I guess plan is to get a SS either at deadline or in FA and shunt Gleyber to 2b and DJ to 1b thereby improving defense. Corey Seager will likely be that SS, IMO, assuming Dodgers don’t break the bank
