Snake bit. And Urshela just hit the IL

Is it always snake bites, when this happens every year?

Or is it the types of players Cashman acquires over and over?

The Yankees acquisition of Heaney has to make Red Sox fans feel a little better about Bloom not just grabbing some random starter for the sake of making a move.

A bit of both. Urshela isnt a muscle bound hulk and Cole got COVID, so this time around, it's snake bites

I don't hate the Heaney move for the short term but I don't like him in Yankee Stadium. He's an extreme FB pitcher and that isn't good for YS. That being said, 1 run vs the O's isnt gonna win you games. Lopez has tremendous stuff, he just hadn't been able to locate. The sun shines on a dog's ass every now and then. We shall see what they do with Harvey tonight

The most inexplicable thing with the Yankees is why they haven't replaced their hitting coach.

They are second to last in the AL in runs scored per game - behind the Orioles!

Yup. The inaction is deafening

OK, I have thoroughly analyzed the situation and it appears that Garrett Cole caught Covid-19 through an infected jar of sticky stuff.

This guy just can't leave the sticky stuff alone, what a shame.

You seem to get about your share of snake bites like Cole and Urshela, but when added to the non snake bites ILs, it seems like overkill.

So Heaney gives up 4 HR in 4 IP, Joely gives up 2 more and we are getting no hit. That’s how you get the home crowd buzzing. FML

@SlangsOnSports

Andrew Heaney is the 1st pitcher in Yankees history to allow 4+ HR in his team debut

I didn't want any part of the Heaney experience.

Anyone remember Chase Wright?

He allowed 4 HR in his second game pitched for the Yankees in 2007 - to the Red Sox.

He was in high A the year before and winds up starting for the Yankees in April.

Wild.

Montgomery has now tested positive for COVID. The snakes are all over this 2021 Yankees team.

The Yankees are currently the Florida of MLB.

3 starters lost in 3 days. Funny how quickly depth dries up. Would be nice if the offense started hitting to carry the team, since the starting pitching has been carrying the offense for months.

Just saw the highlights. 98-99 with the 4 seamer, 94 with the two seamer, 90-92 with the change and 86 with the slider. Love that he works the upper half with the high heat. He’s not going to avoid the walk going forward as he has really struggled with command since his promotion to AAA, but his stuff is electric.

Gil was a COVID replacement for Cole, so not sure he could've technically stayed. They can still call him up in a regular move without the 10 day waiting period I believe.

Yes, there's always an explanation for this baffling crap LOL

Cole is apparently vaccinated so the 10 day timeline isn’t the same per mlb rules. Granted, with the fact that delta breakthrough infections lead to the same amount of nasal passage virus, not sure if science supports their policies. Didn’t know he could be brought back without a ten day hold.

Gil showed me something. To have little success in AAA then be thrown onto the YS mound and dominate the way he did showed guts. I hope to see him again.

Against the Orioles' AA lineup? ;)

Cash was right on on Taillon. As with a lot of post TJS guys, their stuff and command are inconsistent early. It took him half a season to find it, but now he’s lighting it up

I was big on the Sox going after Taillon, but I guess Bloom didn’t like him as much or wanted to keep the farm pieces.

Gallo with a 3 run HR to put the Yankees ahead in the 7th inning. It was a high pop fly Yankee Stadium HR.

It was barely a fair ball down the right field line, so would've been in the 10th row at Fenway ;]
