I need to start watching old games or something. This s*** has me watching WWE for god sakes lol

I’ve been getting drunK and watching old games on YouTube some nights. They actually have a very large selection. As a steelers fan I just watched super bowl vs Seahawks, super bowl vs cardinals and the 05 AFC Championship against the colts, the Polamalu “non INT” still pisses me off and it was 15 years ago.

You gotta love how Asian baseball teams go by the name of their sponsor rather than cities. It's like Little League in the USA...

The good news is that at least the Korean League is baseball. The bad news it will be broadcast on ESPN with those awful ESPN announcers.

Would you prefer they broke out some Koreans like Ken Jeong and Margaret Cho?

The ESPN announcers will spend most of the time talking about anything but the game.

It's funny that you should mention a "non INT". I just happened to catch the last couple of minutes of a replay a couple of nights ago between the Seahawks and the Packers. Seattle won the game on a very controversial Hail Mary touchdown call. To me, it was pretty clear that it was an interception. I am wondering how much the home crowd affected the replay call.

That game is famous for the replacements refs. The referees had a lockout that year and missed the first couple weeks of the season. That game prompted the owners to give in and they were back in action the following Sunday. My point is, the refs and their incompetence had a lot to do with that call too

Hometowns have an enormous affect on refs and umps. Robots would mitigate this.

I was not aware that those were replacement refs. Hey, at least it got the regular referees their jobs back.

That would just take part of the fun of being a hometown crowd out of the game.

And Wisconsin union buster/Packer fan Paul Ryan to publicly demand getting the real refs back, which garnered a lot of backlash...

I actively root against hometown crowds if they are not my own.

So you root for the Yankees when they're on the road?

Yeah that touchdown call was one of the worst in sports history. One referee signaled touchdown and the other signaled touchback. It was hilariously bad. I’m just glad my team wasn’t involved

Giants fans here (I know, the Red Sox and the football Giants are a weird mix) and I just recently watched the Giants 1986 Super Bowl victory over Denver. John Elway is super-young in 1986 and played really well in the first half. The Giants dominant defense took over in the second half and Simms had a tremendous game. Yeah, there are a ton of big football games on YouTube.

Not a weird mix at all! Growing up in CT, this is an everyday occurrence for us, since we're straddling the line of Boston and New York. I know plenty of Red Sox and Giants fans, and just as many Yankees and Patriots fans. We all learn to co-exist. Personally, I'm a Red Sox and Jets/Patriots fan. I also watch the Giants when they're on because growing up, my dad and I watched all 3 teams since they're on TV every week in CT. Living here, it's easy to have more than one favorite team. The rest of the world thinks I'm super weird, but it's normal here

Back in the day before the 1st super bowl and the AFL NFL merger, there were a lot of New York Giants fans in New England since they were largely the only NFL team that was televised in Boston. Growing up every one knew Chris Schenkel who broadcast most of the Giants games. I suspect there are still many of the older crowd who still root for the ole New York Football Giants as they were referred to back in the early and late fifties.

Now that the Patriots are presumably going to decline over time, I'd be interested to see how many of those people go back to the Giants, assuming the Giants can get good again. I feel like many of those old Giants fans became Patriots fans just because they started winning Super Bowls. Now that the dynasty may be over, let;s see how many leave the bandwagon

I don't think many Giants fans became Patriots fans just because the Pats had success. Remember that the Giants did still win Super Bowls in that period.

Braves are saying they won't come back this year if they aren't in the East Division.

Good.

True, but New England sports fans are notoriously brutal, and although the Giants were in a Super Bowl in 2000, they weren't overly great again until 2007, while the Pats were winning championships. And since 2011? They've sucked

Oh man you and me both!!

I can’t watch that colts game. But I’m a colts fan lol. That game still haunts me to this day ugh. Little did I know, one year later they would win it all!

I might try and find some old Sox games especially their 04 run and watch them. Apparently YouTube has a ton. Wow

Game 4 of the ALCS in 2004 was on ESPN the other night, and FS1 has been showing some of them too

The Red Sox were live streaming that one a few weeks ago. I just want to watch game 5. It's more interesting to me and underrated.

Um, that was NOT the "here comes the pizza" game.

@Buster_ESPN

At least one MLB ownership group has instructed its front office to cut its payroll in 2021. A lot of club execs expect others to follow. The youngest players (who are paid little, per CBA agreement) and the players with existing long-term deals won't necessarily be affected.

@Marc_Normandin

A Red Sox exec recently said it'd take three years for finances to normalize, and implied nothing players care about should be up for discussion until then. Laying some groundwork for a fight here.

No but we did learn Damon could run all the way to New York
