I don’t think we are getting the whole story

No s*** Sherlock.

What makes you think that we are entitled to "the whole story"? Its a fair assumption that we rarely, if ever get the whole story.

Sale is going under the knife. And 2020 is going to really suck. I expect that we will be relevant again in two years.

Putting it off for 18 months is what is asinine.

Now, they may wait 20+ months.

So you're saying he should have had surgery in 2018?

Seems to me that Manfred's penalty for Sox cheating has been meted out already. Its ............the Sox being the Sox.

Just incredible. Not trying to rain on anybody's parade. But you have to admit, this is just so Red Sox.

So what are the Yanks being punished for? Look who they're starting the season without:

Severino

Paxton

German

Judge

Stanton

Hicks

Most of these guys were out last year too, or missed a lot of games. Didn't matter. Andujar was out all last season too, for them.

That would have been wonderful. He'd be back by now, fully ready to dominate the American League.

Well they did shut him down in the second half.

But really, it’s very easy to commit other people to surgery. Even as common as it is, TJ surgery guarantees nothing and very often has a short time before a second one is needed...

Some of the posting on here has really gone downhill. I'll be making a list and calling on certain posters to get elective surgery so that they can post at 100% by next year.

Some people are claiming that they are in the best posting shape of their lives. We know what that means. They should probably be sent to the minors to rehab, or in this case to BDC. And they should be removed from our 40 day roster so they don't count toward our Luxury Threshold.

Right after 2018. If they wait until June or July, it will be 18+ months from October/November 2018.

If they wait until winter, it's 24+ months.

I haven't decided on the procedure yet. It may be unique for each individual.

I will admit, many have recommended I get a rectal cephaloectomy. Have jacko explain what that is ;)

Reminds me of a Daniel Johnston song called "I had Lost My Mind."

Always cracks me up.

I said "pardon me, but I seem to have lost my mind."

She said "Well, can you identify it, please?"

I said "Why sure it's a cute little bugger

About yea big, a little warped from the rain"

She said "Well then sir, this must be your brain"

I said "Thank you ma'am, I'm always losin' that dang thing."

Over/Under on innings pitched for Sale this year? Will he have more days on the IL than innings pitched?

O/U is 0.333333.

Yes.

But he pitched 147 innings last year and struck out 218. It was the second-highest K rate of his career.

Serious question: could he do that with a torn UCL?

Not yet... even though my wife the doctor (of edification) continually recommends it, I've decided to trust other expert opinions of like-minded and dislike-minded posters here.

Thus, I've opted for the PRP and will give my aching pessimism another week off before reassessing.

Now if I can just figure out what PRP stands for, in 2020 Red Sox ticket-selling parlance: Please Reprise Positivism... Pitiful Rigmarole Propaganda... Phony RedSoxian Ploy... Price&betts Returnno Pitchers... Phuc R Predictions... Pedro's Really Past.

Yanks announcers were playing up that Tanaka has been pitching with a damaged UCL for years without surgery.

I'm unsure what PRP is in this case, but I am familiar with RPP on TalkSox: Really Problematic Posting.

Said it for years about Sale... Threw way too many innings in college with a throwing program in college that is concerning. If you look at the second half of his season every year he was never the same pitcher and in fact the last three years it has been not good at in the second half. Can’t believe we paid this much money. The other major mistake was letting Price go. Longevity wise price has been excellent. At age of 28 we were shutting Sale down second half. After this year it would be fair to say the last 3-4 years have been not anything near what would be expected of someone some say is a great lefty let alone a number 1 starter.

Bad gamble on a guy that has not been really good for three or four years. Had his spots for sure but not like a true durable number 1. So what if he strikes lots of guys out look at ages 28 through 30. Lots of wear and tear before he got here and even lots of and lots of innings in college.

Needs to do something. For what he’s being paid and for what he has not done the last few years Jen has to get himself right.

1) the Yanks have proven to be organizationally deep enough to survive those sorts of injuries. We have not proven to able to do that

2) The Red Sox being the Red Sox in the context of my comment was resigning Sale when they did and signing Eovaldi for too much money into a circumstance that included confronting the looming Mookie Free Agency. Clearly the Sale resigning is blowing up in our faces and I suspect signing Eovaldi for too much money will blow up in our faces as well. The pitching staff today looks like ERod and pray for 4 days of rain.
