That’s actually not what that paragraph says. Not even close.

Is there some sort of super caps I can use that makes the point?

This guy is as bad as the last clown they booted off the site.

I'm putting him on ignore.

No, SCM33 is just a stubborn coot. He's not a troll like the other one.

By his logic, the Sox shouldn’t start any catchers at all...

He invents positions nobody holds then vehemently and continuously argues against that phantom position.

Vazquez bumped his OPS from 597 to 756 yesterday BTW

Shows how early this season still is, and how judging on tiny sample sizes is very risky.

SCM33 is a very well respected member from before you were a member.

Most long time members like the guy even if he may express views that don't agree with some.

Thanks Spud.

Most people don't like to get into arguments they can't win, then they find themselves in an argument they aren't going to win hahahahahhaha

I couldnt give a f*** what moonbat or nothing think. I was around when this place first started to get going. Those guys can eat dicks.

Any of the guys that have been around would vouch for me (except for MVP, because hed just go against me to be a turd).

Thank you. Nothing wrong with someone else having an opinion that doesnt agree with yours.

Troll, I am not. I genuinely care about the content of the site.

There is a huge difference between a troll and being stubborn. BW came here with the sole intention of hoping to trigger people, and being a douche, he is/was a troll. Not to mention he had multiple accounts. SCM33 is actually debating and adding to conversations and is a good member.. Not even comparable

When I am able to stick around. Life has a funny way of getting in the way of the small things in life, like talking about the Sox.

I'm fine with posters who disagree, but nobody is saying what he is arguing against on Leon.

I'm not suggesting he get banned.

I'm not asking others to put him on ignore, but I did.

I never called him any names, either.

So do you think that part of Cora's plan was to not have Leon on the team? Or was it strictly an upper management decision? Remember last season when Hanley was dumped? Was that part of the Cora plan or strictly upper management? Cora's plan does need to take into consideration the personnel he has and their role in his plan.

I am sure that Cora had input into the decision of which catchers to keep. My guess is that his preference would have been to keep Vaz and Leon, based on how little playing time Swihart got last year.

In the end, without being able to work out a trade, I think the decison came down to Leon being more likely to pass through waivers.

Then again, Leon might NOT be the best Sox catcher. Whether collectively or driven by individual decision making, the Sox management made the decision based on what they had seen. Vaz did the job with the bat today. Some would like to blame Porcello's struggles on the catcher but I wonder if the staff just is struggling due to poor preparation.

Poor preparation is the main reason for the struggles.

I think Vaz does a good job of handling the staff.

Swihart might end up doing a great job behind the plate as well, but I think that's something that will take a little bit of time and adjustment, both on his part and the pitchers' parts.

This was probably the only way to keep all 3 catchers.

I'm hopeful the learning curve with Swihart will not be long or everlasting.

I'm glad our catchers are hitting well.

Good, because that wouldn't happen. You have no idea the ******** Ive witnessed on this site. Im a kitten in comparison. You would not have survived 5 or so years ago.

SCM33 is never boring. The message board could use some life. It has become a bit dull and sterile over the last couple of years with a few exceptions.

This I agree with. The simple solution is to simply put someone on ignore I guess. SCM33 can go against the grain but he is an individual. I kind of like that.

If inventing phantom positions and arguing against them ad nauseam if "bringing life" to this board, I choose death.

That's pretty silly too. Let's move on.

Fine with me...

Our catcher offense, so far:

.214 BA

.241 OBP

.446 SLG

.688 OPS

CERA

5.79 Vaz (Mostly Price, Sale, ERod & Porcello)

5.80 Swihart (Mostly Eovaldi, Porcello & ERod)

Tampa Bay Rays:

Catcher Offense:

.169 BA

.222 OBP

.288 SLG

.510 OPS

CERA

2.43 Zunio

2.45 Perez

Small sample sizes, for sure, but it seems pretty clear (to me) that catcher offense is not the number one priority.

Hey moon, what's our 2B offense? Velazquez gets to contribute to that this morning.

I expected a boost in 2B OPS this year, but so far, it has been horrendous.

OPS by position:

.395 2B

.500 P

.568 CF

.606 3B

.660 RF

.688 C

.713 DH

.854 LF

.894 SS

.902 1B

1.083 PH

may have to call Leon up as Vaz is now our starting 2bman!

#Leongate

Leon's fat ass cant play 2B. Vasquez is immediately more valuable.
