Hinske also played in 3 straight World Series with 3 different teams. That’s gotta be a short list...

Bill Mueller led the league in batting average in 2003 back when it still kinda meant something. He wasn't really that under the radar.

I think the point is, he came out of no where to win the title.

The original idea of the thread was "The guy who achieved the most with the smallest amount of fame or acknowledgment."

That would be Greg Harris, whose fame from his on-field accomplishments was less than his fame from his freakish glove or the fame from his chosen commute...

What was the commute?

He used to take the green line to games...

A lot of players have been known to walk to and from the games. I know Steven Wright did, but that was probably just to beat up a homeless guy on the way home after a loss.

But with Harris, these are the things he was known for. Taking the T from Cleveland Circle. Having an ambidextrous glove. Not for being picked up off the scrap heap after the Phillies DFAd him and the Sox hoped to make him a middle reliever (which he excelled at). And then injuries found him filling in in the rotation where he turned into a good SP who made 30 starts that first season.

I’d say his contributions were pretty under the radar...

He's done NOTHING SO FAR!! Less than Jose Peraza! So disappointing!!

Done just as much as Carlos Hi Ho Silva and I kick myself everytime I remember that guy and his stupid nickname given to him by a former poster that we all know but can't name.

Derek Lowe was an All-Star closer and All-Star starter, but his 2004 postseason may be overlooked by history, as the only pitcher ever to win the clincher in all three rounds of the ALDS, ALCS and WS.

What he did in Game Seven at Yankee Stadium on two days rest had me shaking my head in disbelief, and it should never be forgotten that Lowe was the victor in the greatest win in modern Red Sox lore...

... that didn't end an 86-year-old curse, but finally stopped curses from a million fans.

I've heard all the names. My final list might be:

1. Uehara (3rd string closer to start 2013.)

2. Mueller (THE MAN!)

3. Carbo (That 3 run HR in the bottom of the 8th...)

4. Daubach (Working man's player.)

5. Nava (We got this guy for a dollar from the Independent League.)

Al Nipper started out good, got bad and then got worse.

No love for Javier Lopez. Or the late great (against the Yankees anyway) Vaughn Eshelman?

Depends on how far down you want to dig, I guess.

Bellhorn doinking the foul pole in YS.

Bellhorn's 3 run homer in Game 6!

Bellhorn had 8 RBI in a span of 4 postseason games that year.
