Yes, he is as happy as anyone. As badly as he pitched on Saturday, he was good in the regular season and he helped them get to where they are.

Eovaldi oddly has only pitched very well for us when facing the Yankees. I would stick with Price in game 2

I will say that where Jacko is right even if tangentially....this particular Yankee team was always too young to go very far. Noted that months ago. They don't hit with the maturity of a team that can really go anywhere in the post season. They don't field like a team that can. Its most telling in their hitting and the dif between the maturity of the Sox team and the Yankee team should be pretty obvious from this series. It is really hard to win games on 1 run HR's. That is why we have the old saw of pitchers don't lose games on 1 run HR's. Well if pitchers don't lose games on them then teams don't win games with them.

 

If they stay together as a team, they might have a run at some point in the next couple years....but not this year. Was never going to be this year. Just too young up and down the roster.

 

We at least have a fair shot at the Astros. The Astros would have chewed this Yankee team up and spit them out.

For the most part I do agree. They had a fantastic run last year and gave us a hell of a series. Even though we won 3-1 Game 1 and tonight was a heart attack. Yankees have a bright future if they keep this group together.

Let me go a step further and confirm that Kimbrel, as seen previously, is a choker who cannot pitch when it counts. Who calls those breaking balls when the guy is a 96-98 thrower ? His FB is dominant but his breaking balls are not, yet they continously rain down on the plate like flying frisbees. Hate this guy and all he has which is nothing that matters in an important instance. Don't quote me his stats, tell me when he can when be counted on to win.

 

Craig Kimbrel is a loser who I am glad will not be resigned next year. Sale should have finished the 9th and left this yapper to bark in the bullpen.

I think you have the seeing problem. Kimbrel stunk but doesn’t always and does need that knuckle curve to complement his hittable fastball. Beni had a bad night, but so did Mookie. Yes, the Yankees have a terrific bullpen. This surprises you? And Cora is an idiot for using his ace closer with a 3 run lead and not his ace starter?

Yeah, Kimbrel nearly spit the bit. But he didn’t. He’s also been the most consistent pen arm in the game the last two seasons. He can redeem himself vs Houston. I’m intrigued by this ALCS matchup. The Astros have arms for days and a good pen now after picking up the woman beater. Their offense had been dormant until the ALDS when they went off. They’re mostly right handed as well, making the Sale-Price beginning problematic. I did pick the Yanks to win the ALDS and lose to the Astros. I still think the Astros are the best in the AL. I’m picking Astros in 6.
