But if the Sox do get Machado, he’ll be committing his acts of thuggery against other trams’ players. Whereas if he signs elsewhere, he remains a potential threat to Sox middle infielders...

MLB has fined Manny Machado an undisclosed amount for the way he ran into Jesus Aguilar last night, sources tell The Athletic.

If the Sox get Machado, committing acts of thuggery against other teams’ players poses a potential threat to himself, and he'll then be a Sox infielder, so that's no solution.

I hate Machado but he’s really f***ing good, and would rake at Fenway. I’d take the douche

I rooted for Rodney Harrison, Curtis Dillon, and Randy Moss, and I was prepared to root for Albert Haynesworth. I could handle rooting for Manny Machado. He might be a thug, but at least he wasn't a Yankee...

...Which is why I want him in the National League. He's an outstanding player and a big crowd draw so MLB wouldn't ban him if he shot someone on 5th avenue.

Since he IS going to play someplace his being in the NL keeps him as far from Red Sox players as he can be.

But what about if the Yankees sign him? That would make him 2x as despicable.

There is very few athletes I dislike so much I actually wouldn’t want them on my team, especially if they’re good. Only two currently playing I can think of who I absolutely wouldn’t want are Vontaze Burfict and Draymond Green.

Machado is there for me too.

Reputation-wise he's got 2 strikes against him now. 1) He's a dirty player. 2) He doesn't hustle all the time, he knows it and he doesn't apologize for it.

oh. they would know best. ask them about racial profiling.....should make for a fun Thanksgiving dinner convo. then you all can turn on figure skating for the rest of the afternoon since NFL boycott.....

What's wrong with figure skating?

If the Sox signed Machado, I would have no choice but to root for him to do well.

I don't want to be put in the dilemma.

He's a punk. Pass on him.

Besides, I like the left side of our infield just the way it is.

I really didn't mean to start a debate on Devers. I love the guy. I wanted him to start over Nunez, even against some lefties.

We have no better defensive options at 3B with Nunez hobbled. To me, Devers is clearly the best offensive choice.

Let's hold this debate for the long days of winter. Right now, Devers is the man.

Machado wants to play SS not 3B. He's not a fit.

For anyone who saw Machado's intentional trip over Aguilar last night , and second base slide the night before, there should be little denial that Machado is a dirty player with no regard for the opponent's vulnerabity. The Burfect of baseball. His quotes in the LA press today show he does not care if hustles on routine plays or not. "That's the way I am" . The Red Sox have gone through an entire season without a regular 2Bman because of the same type play on Pedroia. Yelich called him out as a dirty player.

Theirs a fine line between "hard nosed" , old school baseball and being a thug, like Aaron Hernandez, and Machado has crossed it. Hope Milwaukee sends him home to whatever shithole third world country will have him.

Signing this assclown by the Sox could be one thing that would make me puke . I hope he does not wind up in the AL East with 19 shots at our team. On the other hand , a team that is willing to throw at him all the time might be the answer. Throw to injure not harass. Aside from any consideration of position, Manny has taken world class talent and embodied with world class ******* attitude.

If I were a predicting man - and I am - I would predict the Sox sign Machado this off-season. But I predict the White ones, not Red.

But if in the unforseen event that DD opens the vault and signs Machado, then Bogaerts becomes instant trade fodder...
