Does anyone else use ESPN for fantasy? They have Mike Leake listed as throwing 214 pitches in 1 inning, and allowing 14 hits, 1 earned run, and his team being up 1-0.

WTF?

Well after a couple of games where the starters didn't get out if the 5th, the bullpen has to be taxed. You can't burn the pen for 7-8 innings. Modern pens don't have a real long man anymore. There were several times when I was a kid when Bob Stanley would come in in the 1st or 2nd and finish the games. I recall once when he pitched from the 1st into extra innings.

This is part of the marathon, it's not the sprint portion of the season. More a hope game tonight; hope Johnson can keep it close and get some runs off a guy who can be tough at times.

Dick Radatz was another that could go deep in the game and not even faze him.

Way too close for comfort but we are winning games in different ways. Some games we win from pitching and the last couple offensively we are really getting it together. At the end of the day we have won 4 straight and the Yankees lost today. Great day!

And as the old Oriole PA guy Rex Barney would have said, give that fan a contract. Nice catch by the guy in left.

That was the coolest catch by a fan I have seen so far this year. Plus, that ball was smoked.

And he is still hitting .196

Its early. I'm a known Pablo hater but he's been hitting the ball well, the one time he was retired tonight was a nice diving stop by Travis.

For all of Panda's free swinging, vlad the impaler type s*** at the plate, he fouls off a lot of pitches and does have some nice ABs. Some of those nice ABs don't amount to much other than wearing down the pitcher (which has value). Last night he showed some patience at the plate and went 3 for 4 w/ a walk. As long as he mixes in some more patient ABs to go along with his more aggressive ones he should be fine. I like his bat speed thus far, especially after missing a whole season.

He's looking much better for sure. I think the numbers will follow.

That was a great grab! He reaches any lower and he is down a deck.

Barnes is very inconsistent.

More concerned with the 6 walks he's allowed in 8 1/3 innings than anything else. Only 5 hits given up on the season so far, and the runs last night were the first ones he's allowed all year. K numbers (10) are good. If he has 1 bad outing every 8 times out, I think we can live with it.

And he was hitting .143 before yesterday. Got to give players a couple of hundred plate appearances before really drawing some conclusions. Pablo's around 50-60 right now. His bat speed is definitely better, now whether that translates to consistency, who knows. The Sox don't need him to hit .325. .260-.275 with some power will be an improvement over the black hole that was 3rd base last year.
