  1. Romo should get more then a minor league deal. Had a decent year last year.
  2. I like the year and the price, but would want someone along with him.
  3. I agree
  4. Have you looked at the roster it was all overpaid veterans like Tony Clark and Damian Easley, he inherited that team broke it down and rebuilt. When he broke that team up it took him 2 years to rebuild.
  5. I have not agreed with everything DD. Has done, but overall he has done what he was paid to do in Boston. I have problems with people who question his track record. He has built teams from the bottom up through the use of the farm system, either by holding on to certain players or trading them for win now assets. Every organization he took over he has succeeded in making that team better. After he left the Expos and Marlins the Teams achieved success. That 1994 Expos team could have been great. 2003 Marlins won the World Series. That 9 year span with the Tigers was one of the most successful eras in there history.
  6. Once the team bottomed out ,they went 43-119 in 2003, in 2006 they were in the world series that’s like saying Baltimore is going in 2021. What I’m saying it took 2 years after the team bottomed out. Look at that roster in 02 and 03 just awful.
  7. I’m hoping they hold on to Hernandez like to see what he can do if he gets healthy. Think it’s between Walden and Shepherd unless they trade Swihart.
  8. I’m very torn on Joe Kelly. What are we going to get from him. Second half joe Kelly whatever contract he gets will be bad, but postseason joe Kelly will be a steal.
  9. Hopefully we get a full healthy season from him, was are second best starter this year until the injury.
  10. I think you put him in a full time role he will produce, probably won’t happen in Boston, but if he gets traded i think he will produce.
  11. Again he took over a terrible roster he bottomed it out in 2003 rebuilt in 2004 and 5 went to the World Series in 06 I don’t know about you but to me that’s impressive. In 9 years from 2006 to 2014 in 7 of those years they could have qualified for the playoffs. Lost 2 World Series in that time span and arguably in 2013 had the best roster, they just happened to bump into a very motivated team that year.
  12. What are you talking about he took over an aging veteran team and rebuilt it his first two years. Ok in 9 years he had one uncompetitive season. I believe anyone being objective would agree his reign in Detroit was successful. Hard to keep a team competitive for that time period.
  13. When all is said and done DD will be a hall of fame executive.
  14. Second place in two of those years. Not to bad.
  15. You remember what he won in 2003, a historically bad team to fix that quickly is an accomplishment and to have a 10 year window is also very good.
  16. Thanks for the info much needed
  17. Robby Scott could be another one
  18. I’m still intrigued by his bat.
  19. I would imagine Swihart has trade value.
  20. I would add shepherd to that list also.
  21. I hope not but has not lived up to expectations
  22. I agree could never ask for more. I started following in 72 after going through years of heartbreak this has been an amazing run. Could not ask for better ownership or even better general managers.
  23. Yeah we look set forgot about Travis
  24. We also have Lin, Holt, Nunez and Pearce who can play out there, and I’m going to guess they introduce Chavis to it this year.
  25. The idea of team building is to be able to compete for a World Series title year after year, the tigers competed for 10 years.
