Price out with forearm soreness

As far as Price pitching out of the pen, I have no problems with that. Give it a try, what could it hurt? My understanding is that he will be used for multiple innings and will be somewhat of a 'piggybacker' should one of our starters not have it on a particular day, like Fister in his last start.

 

Maybe if we have a comfortable lead, that would allow Farrell to pull Sale after 5 and give him a bit of a blow.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing this come playoffs...... With Price's playoff failures he needs to do something to get some confidence back come playoff time. Maybe not starting a game but pitching 3 or 4 solid innings will be what he needs to get some playoff mojo in his head.

Farrell made a comment that he thinks Price could be for us what Andrew Miller was for the Tribe last year. I'm not sure about all that, but Price did look awfully good in his bullpen outing a couple of days ago.

This is exactly what I was thinking!!!! I know it's hard to tell as we haven't seen Price much in the bullpen but it would be fantastic if he could put up Miller like numbers in the playoffs..... Guess time will tell..... Speaking of Miller I think Cleveland just reactivated him 3 days ago. As if they needed anymore weapons lol.

Haha agreed. That is one team I wouldn't mind making it and winning it all. I was ok with the Cubs last year and would be ok with Cleveland this year. Very well could be a rematch of last year.

He thinks his arm can pitch. He thinks he's worth his contract. Farrell should put him in high leverage situations down the stretch and make him earn it.

His stuff would play really well as a high leverage reliever in the playoffs. He definitely needs to be on the roster.

Barnes looked good last night. Looked rested. His trip to the dl was probably what he needed. Another big power arm in that bullpen. It is all about getting the ball in the strike zone for him. have to admit though that I was pretty nervous when he entered the game.
