Oh for crying out loud, it was his first major league hit and homer and the home crowd acknowledged it. It wasn't Machado or Trumbo with whatever number they're on right now.

I've never seen a curtain call for anyone, when they are losing early in a game.. and I've seen plenty of guys hit home runs in their first game. f*** the Orioles

This was a pretty big win--@Baltimore against their best starter and against a team that really needs a win. Shmucks.

 

Still .5 behind the Guardians and 2.5 behind the Ramgers for best record in the AL.

 

Today is September 21,for crying out loud. Wow.

The Oriole announcers are some of the worst in the league, even Orioles fans hate them, they are downright awful.

The Os announcers really are terrible. However, they are 100% more tolerable when the Os lose!

Great call by Farrell letting ERod pitch to Trumbo with 2 out and a man on 2d in the 6th. Some risk, of course, but he has been pitching great tonight, and getting Trumbo out at a key juncture will set ERod up for the playoffs. He's still only thrown 87 and could come out to start the 7th.

 

"Eduardo Rodriguez has a 3.21 ERA with 57 K and 21 BB in 12 starts since the All-Star break."

 

Everything seems to be coming together for the Sox at the right time.

I really think the rivalry with the O's is now on the same level as the Yankees, except that O's fans can't bother themselves enough to show up in the middle of a playoff push.

Man, I like having JBJ out there. He just runs to 'the spot' and waits for the ball.

 

I share your enthusiasm for the importance of defense.

 

I think far too many people underestimate its value, and that's why people like JD Drew never get the credit they deserve.

 

That's also why some people think that WAR is whack, but knowing that you are not a fan of its defensive component, I won't go there.

For me, the Yankees are still the most hated team, and barring incredible, unforeseen circumstances, they always will be. Much of that has to do with the obnoxious Yankees fans that I have to deal with.

 

The Os right now are a close 2nd, but they could be and have in the past been, overtaken by the Rays.
