I don't place too much stock in what either Erod or Koji did in this game. Vanilla Ice has more hits than this yankee team.

 

Also, I don't know how starters can be effective with only 2 pitches. Bullpen - okay. Why aren't pitchers learning more pitches in the minors? Yankees have brought up guys with only two pitches as well. They can be effective for a span, but not consitently so.

They have one of the weaker offenses, but they were averaging 4.45 runs a game at home coming into today, so holding them to 2 is still good work.

I hate how they always seem to teeter on the brink of respectability over the last few years, no matter how much they suck. If any other team in baseball had the same players and played the same games, they'd be 15 games under .500 right now. I'd really like to see a solid few years of mid-to-late-eighties Yankees.

This is true. But, E-Rod got hit hard by the Rays not too long ago and they can't hit a side of a barn even if it was right in front of their faces. This is a good sign as far as I am concern.

I listened to a good part of the game. it didn't sound like he was dominant just good. Threw his pitches where he wanted to throw them.
