  1. They do suck now. Sox sucked for 86 years during which they were a lovable loser underdog with mopey dopey woe is me fans. Since 2004 you've become the very thing you purport to hate: grasping, mewling, petulant, spoiled babies yelling, "give me more, give more!" Worse, you lost humility - something Yank fans never will need. Now you have the highest payroll in the history of the game - cheering for them is like betting on the house. In reality, your chances of winning the WS are less than 30%. FU fanboy.
  2. Grow a pair, stand up to these pussy mothaf***ahs. 27 championships - they only dream 'bout. f***, man. Jeezus.
  3. Save that for the Lord, Jesus Christ, dumb bitch.
  4. A fan shows balls and lays them out on the line and you s*** on them 'cuz you 'happen to be' on the other side of the fence? f*** you, pussy. How you be doin' in 2020? Judge and Sanchez just be doin' fine, motherf***ah.
  5. I agree. Japanese League is at least on par with AAA if not higher. They've got grizzled, seasoned vets in that league. The Korean league is weaker. The international pool is a great loophole for richer teams to exploit. Teams should field a permanent scout in these Asian countries, especially Japan, if they aren't already. For those who haven't, watch Japanese baseball and watch AAA to empirically evaluate them. Maybe you don't need a direct scout after all.
  6. Yankees are getting close to that lonely spot. Every major leaguer is rich and has had their pick. Whether they're happy yet, ask if the Price is right, David. CC Sabathia wants another ring. Money's not the only thing. But he signed for 10 million. That can't hurt... Edit: Yanks are on top. 27 Championships and gunning for 28. Background information. Astros are on top right now, but not for long. mlbtraderumors reports Yanks are in on Evan Longoria as another franchise seeks to liquidate. I'd wait on Machado. Pick him over Harper due to fielding position. Sox have f'd up a lot. Impatience. They've seen a lot big bat talent succeed on other clubs. Now it's a need. Yanks have seen their big bats blossom on their team. That song you linked uses 4 chords. Do you play guitar? Bill Burr had a good line: It's our best and your best vs who ever you've got left. Who's competitive next year? Yanks, Astros, Angels, Red Sox, Guardians, Dodgers, Cubs, and Nationals, maybe Cardinals. Did I miss anyone? The rest of the teams are cannon fodder. BOMBS AWAY!!! I can appreciate your priorities. No need to re-assess. But Yanks are the favorites to win the division next year.
  7. Will Boras blink from 7/200 for Hosmer and Martinez? Sox are faced with buying now or bidding in next year's FA class alongside the Dodgers and Yanks, who are positioning themselves financially to minimize loss via tax penalty. What should DD do? If the Sox sign both players, are they conceding next year's class to rival behemoths? Either way, we're seeing some teams amass a wealth of talent while many others are trying to rebuild, restock. I expect the standings to be more polarized next year. I don't think that'll spell bad news for people on these boards. It'll be boring for fans of the losing teams, however. Why bother watching? Change the channel or change teams. It's expensive to go to a baseball game. Losing teams have to find a way to maintain ticket prices amid a disaffected fan base. I think the Guardians will be all in on this year's class. Boras has more than just the Sox he can pitch his FA class to. Guardians time is now. Their window won't last forever. I'd love to see the Guardians get one of Martinez/Hosmer. Be a little colder in Boston. But don't despair, Sox fans, I think DD will get one of the two FA's. The Sox need a bat. I hope they get one. Yanks need some competition.
  8. Provided they stay healthy, they're stacked. General interest: I'd like to see how good the Giants' Baumgartner could be as a DH. A successful Ohtani would be incredible. Pitching and DHing for yourself would be an awesome display. Fielding and using Pujols as DH instead when you're not pitching? ... that I gotta see.
  9. If I were Stanton, I could make the same money and win a championship during that contract's lifetime. The Marlins just checked into the NO CHANCE IN HELL HOTEL. And how long we'll be staying? 5, 10 years? They're lowering the books to keep a profit. Hey, the Marlins have won 2 championships, however. Maybe they know what they're doing. With Stanton, the Yanks would be taking their franchise player. LOL. My version of a vindictive SOB: David Price opts out and signs with the Yankees for a song. He would be hated in Boston. Great entertainment, though. It's not my money. Screw the (insert team here) I'm joining the Yankees! ESPN: already speculating Harper could command a 500 million dollar contract. Insanity. Hilarity ensues. All the best players end up in the majors, and, soon, most of them will be on the few elite teams left. Does Ohtani have an opt-out clause, too? LOL
  10. Baseball is played at a high level in numerous locations. 1.What are teams allowed to purchase? Whether they should be able to or not, is an ethical question and a debate in itself. 2. What are team profit margins? --> affects who they can afford to buy. 2a) Can the Yanks still afford the biggest payroll? --> Who can they have? How many free agents can they afford? 2b) Would the presence of Stanton preclude bidding on Kershaw or Harper next year? 2c) How high is Steinbrenner willing to raise payroll? I don't even know if Cashman has that number, but he should. He's got a great name and a good brain for that job. 2D) Team control of their young stars like Judge and Sanchez - how much will it cost them in the future? 2E) Is Sanchez/Harper/Judge/Stanton wishful thinking? 2F) Can someone find a more up to date version of the profit margin for the Yanks? 2007 profit/cost margin according to: http://nymag.com/news/features/2007/profit/32903/ Annual Revenue: $302 million (with $28 million in losses). Sources of Revenue: Stadium tickets: $117 million (4.2 million tickets at an average of $28 each); YES network TV/radio rights: $60 million; Major League TV and licensing: $30 million; concessions: $10 million; sponsorships and advertising: $30 million; premium seating: $27 million; local radio: $13 million; catering: $5 million; other: $10 million. Annual Overhead Costs: Player salaries: $195 million; Major League revenue-sharing fees: $70 million; Major League luxury tax: $25 million; stadium operations: $20 million; travel and training: $20 million. -------------- According to http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/D...-Expenses.aspx This article, also from 2007, claims the franchise is worth 1.2 billion. Whatever Forbes lists as the club's value, ultimately it's what anyone is willing to purchase the club for. 3.Any interviews with Steinbrenner? 4. This resurgence looks incredible. Is there another dynasty on the way? 5. I like to think that Ohtani made a mistake in not choosing the Yankees. Whatever the case, I'm interested to see him play in the majors. There's only one major league. All the others are minor, and just like their musical counterpart, have merit. In general, Japan's League has better pitching than Korea's, the latter being very hitter friendly. There's going to be a lot of pressure on Ohtani wherever he is because he's not going to make much money. He's going to have to earn a big baseball payday. Some speculated Otani didn't want to be on a team with a fellow Japanese star. If true, was it a marketing decision? I'm assuming he stands to make a lot of money via commercial sponsorship back home. 6. If Steinbrenner gets Stanton, he might as well just buy the Marlins, make Jeter an ambassador or something. Maybe he already has. What would happen if a guy owns two teams? Possibly this Stanton trade, for instance. LOL. As a fan, I'm lovin' it. McDonald's can start selling pinstripe fries.
  11. There's nothing to fear being a Yankee fan. They've already lapped the field. This isn't the Tortoise and the Hare. The Tortoise is dead. From 20-25 WS on everything else was gravy. N I love me some gravy. Go Yankees.
  12. Those 'damn' Yankees are now a half game out while the Sox are mired in yet another Days of our Lives soap opera filled with who gives a s*** over who said what to whom. Players don't end their careers over there because the media has an fn hard-on and the fans are fn nuts. On a brighter note, every time Judge comes to the plate I'm thinking Paul Bunyan or that Casey character in the Disney cartoon. The guy's a mythical juggernaut. That hackneyed gripe that the Yanks just buy their way is a bunch of partisan ********. Gehrig, Dimaggio, Mantle, Mattingly, Jeter, Williams, the list goes on and on. GO YANKEES. I expected the Yanks to get Harper when he was available; I didn't expect them to already have a homegrown monster of their own when they did it. GO YANKEES.
  13. That's all you got? Keep fearing the black man, mfer.
  14. Another white boy fixated on big black cock. After extirpating the Guardians, that's the sum total of American history. Were you one of the anonymous shouting out 'niggah' to Adam Jones that night at Fenway Park? Never you mind that. According to flower girl, the Red Sox is America's Team.
  15. If anyone could suck their own dick, you better believe an opportunistic self-interested profit seeking whore in the 'United' States of America would have marketed their own self-help book by now. You'd own an autographed copy. You just joined this site this month and already have 100+ posts. You're in need of self-help, junkie.
