5IP 10H 5ER. That's what he will do. O'Sullivan sucks. He's always sucked. DD's issue right now is that too many teams think they're still in it. That second wild card has left Aug 1 a bit dry because a lot more teams have a chance. Oakland is probably your best trade partner, but the A's are likely to hang onto Hill until he proves his health after coming off the DL. And they'll want a few more starts from Gray to proves he's worthy of an ace return. Pomeranz stock keeps rising, so I'm sure he'll be moved soon. The Braves have come out saying they won't deal Teheran this year, for what that's worth. And the rest of the teams out of it at this point have no pitching. DD has to force the issue of he's adamant about winning right now. Without two more pitchers of solid quality, your team is going to miss the playoffs

I had this team as an 85-87 win team in the spring but the pitching has gotten worse and the morale has virtually collapsed as evidenced by the repeatedly sloppy play. Unless DD makes a major shakeup this team will be lucky to break 500.

Based on what? He has a career 6.03 ERA and 1.59 WHIP in 54 career starts.

Based on how he's been pitching recently in AAA. I didn't say he would come up and be an ace. I said that he should be able to keep the team in the game.

For the love of all things good........ can we find one man....... one person........one individual................... who can hold down the 4 slot in the rotation...........

I've gave up on the 5 slot......... all I ask is a number 4 pitcher....

It's really an enigma that we can't find one guy to be consistent in the 4/5 slot. Wilkerson deserves a chance. Nothing else has worked.

The Red Sox lead all of baseball in enigmas over the last 3 years.

Price so far is part of the problem. Whether or not he performs up to expected standards in the future is irrelevant and unknowable. So far, he has not performed as he should for his caliber of talent. That is a fair and reasonable assessment of his performance to this point.

I picked 84 wins - so on the whole this team has not been surprising - outstanding offensively, pitching had been bad.

The bullpen has been a disappointment (Koji in particular) but the starting has been worse. Price has both been important on the positive side (just by virtue of being able to be durable and pitch deep into games - mostly) but clearly not worth his salary so far. Vasquez as a pitching staff whisperer has largely not shown in the results

I am not sure what this means for the future - I am still optimistic, but it feels a bit more quixotic every day without something significant happening.
