E-Rod gives up more then that in just one f***ing inning. Stop with the f***ing insanity. Rodríguez needs more time in the minors. One f***ing start down there isn't going to fix him.

I agree with your point but we are down to basically 3 starters. I think we are DESPERATE. Someone on the staff must think E Rod can be salvaged with a quick fix.

Lets keep this real. Last year ERod, in 121 IP, had an ERA of 3.85, and an ERA+ of 110. At the beginning of this year he got hurt. So far he has pitched just 29 innings in just 6 games. Are you really ready to give up on him already? We gave Buchholz 10+ starts before declaring him a disaster. Aside from the fact that right now there is no better option than ERod-who last year was very good-its simply too early to give up on him. Six starts? Really?

I am not giving up on Rodriguez. He has shown us in the past that he has talent. But, the Majors is not a place to find your s*** again. Especially on a team that is in a pennant race. You can't possible look at this guy right now and tell me that he can win a game up here. He only has two pitches and unless you're a reliever, you're going to get f***ing lit up with just two pitches in your arsenal. He needs to work out his slider in Pawtucket. Where you can afford him to suck balls until he gets his s*** straight.

Who would you rather have as our fourth SP then-from among the currently available options? I agree: ERod needs a slider or a curve, and that's what he should be working on all next winter. He isn't going to suddenly come up with one in a few weeks.

Honestly, I have no clue. They more than likely have no one who they can call on to not get shelled. But, I wouldn't be opposed to seeing if Owens can do anything. I know he hasn't been too good in the minors this year. But, we've tried the other piles of s*** so much. I am tired of seeing it and tired of watching this team.

Thats the problem. There is no one else. Owens has neither command nor velocity, a bad combination. No to Owens. Even worse, Farrell has said that Buchholz is coming back into the rotation. We really need help.

Owens just can't throw strikes......he's really in a bad way....

58 walks in 83 inning in the minors this year....

I want all these guys to succeed....but

Hell, it took him over 110 pitches to shut them out...why doesn't he pitch to contact and save his arm?

It would be more effective if anyone actually claimed that Price was the problem, and/or if Price didn't have an up and down first half.

I am surprised that Buchholz is getting another chance.

I was sure we had seen the last of him as a starter for the Red Sox.

What do we do Kimmi? I believe you and me were the only Clay supporters left his last start. Do we dare?....?

I've been saying all along that he will "be up next" as long as he is healthy.

Ben dug a huge hole.

I'm going to pull a Kimmi here.

I think Buch blows goats.

But I understand why the Sox keep rolling him out there.

And he will have the option picked up this offseason.

Not unless he has a miraculous second-half revival. FanGraphs has him at a current value of negative $4.2 million.

Let me get this straight: are you suggesting that any criticism of Price's performance didn't necessarily equate to saying that he was the biggest problem with our pitching?

For all of the reasons it was a "no brainer" last offseason, it's the same "no brainer" this one.

Not really. He pitched very well in 2015. He can't pitch for s*** in 2016. Sort of a difference there, from where I sit anyway.

The reasons this offseason to keep him were:

$13M for a starting pitcher is great value

he has tremendous upside

you would have to spend at least that much to replace him

None of the above has changed as far as I know. Do I agree with picking up his option? Nope. I still think it will happen though.

2015 3.26 ERA 1.21 WHIP vs 2016 5.91 ERA 1.49 WHIP

Yeah, no difference at all there.

It's not like his current year was completely unexpected.

To be honest, I don't think he deserves another chance, but since he's getting it, we hope for the best.

I have not written him off completely. The talent is there. I won't be surprised if he pitches like a #2 the rest of the way out. Then again, I won't be surprised if he continues to stink.

Go Clay!

LOL Correct.

Hyperbole runs rampant here.

I strongly disagree with this. I am one of the biggest "no brainer" defenders last offseason, and I see it as anything other than a no brainer this season.

One year can make a big difference.

Previous year's performance is a big factor in the decision, IMO.
