I miss that too!!!!

Did you ever see Earl Weaver go at it? Dick Williams?

Lol!!!

I have probably seen them, but I honestly don't remember seeing them specifically.

I'm sure they were good. LOL

Cespedes' defense is picking up right where it left off in the World Series. He looks like me out there, dropping that soft liner.

Billy Martin too and Ralph Houk patented the throw down and kick of the hat.

Yeah, we're stuck with replay. I don't see it going anywhere. I really hope that we don't get to the point of using technology for balls and strikes.

If balls and strikes were automated, the game would be much faster. I'm all for this.

Goldy had a pretty good night for Arizona. My coach is distraught that AJ is basically out for the year, but he met Goldy at someone's wedding, and still roots for him.

A crazy end to the Ray-Jays game on the new slide rule at Second Base.

He stuck his hand out and grabbed the IF's leg. That would have been called the same way last year.

Do you think so? The Rays announcers thought that it had something to do with the new rule.

He did slide through the base without trying to stay on, which would be called under the new rule. However, if you watch the replay, you also see him reach out with his hand to trip the IF. It would have been called last year, imo.

And if players don't really know the full impact of the new rule and didn't practice sliding techniques in ST, shame on the managers.

True, and one of the things about the replay system is that there is never an explanation of the call. Before the umpires had to answer press questions. Now, there is really no "transparency". Did they call him out because he slid over the bag breaking the new rule or because he tried to grab him? As far as I know, there has been no explanation.

Umpiring crew chief Mike Everitt said he was limited to passing on what the replay officials sent him in terms of an explanation:

"After viewing all relevant angles the replay official definitely determined that the runner violated Rule 601 J. The runner's actions hindered and impeded the fielder. Additionally, he did not engage in a bona fide slide as he did not attempt to remain on the base."

Asked by a pool reporter what he or his crew saw, Everitt said, "That's it. … That's what we got. It went to replay and that's what it is.''

End of story. Replay officials shall not be challenged.

So the part where Bautista reaches out his hand to intentionally grab the IF's leg isn't wrong? Did you feel the same way when ARod slapped the ball out of Arroyo's glove?

Or the part where Bautista slid completely by the bag without attempting to stop.

He was clearly trying to take the IF out of the play.

You can't do either under the new rules.

Well, it has been that way for long time and IMO it is part of the game. Honestly, I don't remember Arroyo's case, and I'm not sure how many cases like his have happened.

What, you forget one of the most important calls in Sox history?

Surely you've seen the Photoshopped pictures of A-Rod with the purse.

I think I wasn't a Sox fan at the time haha, but I'll google it.

Right and instead of saying "maybe we should put them in dresses" the manager should have explained the new rules to the team in ST. The Jays are completely at fault for losing this game. I have no sympathy for it. If Pedroia did the same thing, I'd double my efforts to tell everyone he needs to be traded.

Meant to post this a few days ago but I forgot. I haven't played fantasy baseball seriously in a few years, some people at my work wanted to a do league so I decided why not. It was an Auction draft. It was a weird draft and I didn't really know how to play it, there was a lot of steals though because some Idiot spent $84 on Harper and another dude spent $72 on Trout and etc, so a lot of guys went below value.. For example, I got Felix Hernandez for $13, Tex for $1, etc.

My team ended up pretty nice, at least I think

C - Salvador Perez

1B Paul GoldSchmidt

2B - Dee Gordon

SS - Xander Bogaerts

3B - Josh Donaldson

2B/SS - Robinson Cano

1B/3B - Mark Teixeira

OF - Mookie Betts

OF Nelson Cruz

OF Carlos Gonzalez

OF Lorenzo Cain

OF Dexter Fowler

Utility: DJ Lemahieu

P - Felix Hernandez

P- Dallas Kuechel

P - Yordano Ventura

P - Jaime Garcia

P - Santiago Cassila

P - Clay Buchholz

P - Michael Pineda

P - Luke Gregerson

P - Jeremy Jeffress

P - Tanner Roark

Bench:

Brad Boxberger

Brock Holt

Matt Holliday

My team has been raking at the plate, but I dont know what to do with this pitching staff and if they will be strong enough to win any pitching categories, how effective is streaming daily? I'm debating about doing that because a few of these guys (Buchholz/Pineda) already have gotten rocked and I'm not attached to any of these guys.

How many teams are in your league, and how much is the budget?
