I know a few people who claim to get a "Bud-ache" whenever they drink Bud. I get migraines from certain beers, so I try to avoid it.

bud on tap does not work well for me.

I'm a liquor absorption machine, and other than my first binge drink and subsequent clusterf***, I can proudly say I have never had a hangover. God wasted that gift on me, since I barely drink any alcohol now.

buds = headache - really?

Nasty Gansett- Carlings black label (couple of old favorites)

My freshman year in college the little old guy who sat outside the store waiting for us to show up would go inside and for $1.06 go in and purchase a six pack of bohemian national for us. Didn't really like it much because it couldn't measure up to the Ballentine Ale I had been weened on at the golf course the summer before.

Obviously now my taste is much more refined.

I bet you have a taste for ice cold Haffenrifer Private Stock.

That stuff was great when really cold. Weasel piss skunk water if not so.

My Dad used to buy me a quart of it every Friday night. Unless I expressed a preference for Knick Natural!!!!!!

It's funny. Travel in Europe and you can find Budweiser in most big cities and establishments.

Of course they drink Jack Daniels as if it was some prize, too.

Haffenreffer. I've bought a few 40's of that in my time. Great for pizza and a movie night with my dog.

I have ying-yang cats. The white one is an angel, just the most well behaved and kind-hearted animal in all of creation (as long as she can't get ahold of a trash bag). The black one is devil spawn, except when she wants to be petted. Hilarious in some of her antics though. Love them both.

We have two cats...actually we may just have one now. The older one wandered off the other day and hasn't returned. She was 15 and not in the best of health.

Hound - certifiable couch potato, perfect family dog

Chihuahua - runs the house, bites creepy men

Jersey Cow Cat - has diabetes, is cross eyed

Black Cat - snuggle bug, everyone wants to steal her

Tabby Cat - shitter, has massive digestive issues, feral

I can't have pets where I live.

Otherwise I would have two Siamese cats since they are demonstrably intellectually superior to other cats and most people.

I have never understood why many people are afraid of them. Maybe they had experiences with Siamese that were brought up by non-loving people and acted poorly. My cats were the most loving and communicative creatures. Unless you f***ed with them. Then you were screwed.

Panic had nothing to do with it. When you are in last place and the fans no longer care about your product, what is your boss supposed to do? Give you a participation ribbon?

Panic had everything to do with it. When you do an apparent 180 degree about face from the philosophy that has basically made your career because of basically two bad years in a row, that's panic.

Henry (and fans) should have waited this out 1-2 more years.

The post she referenced was 9 hours old. It's not like she went back a few days. I can't fault her for not having insomnia at 2am.

I post a lot, but I am not on here 24/7 like some people are. I can't respond to a post the minute that it is posted. Hence, the reason for my binge posting - getting caught up.

I don't recall anybody suggesting that you could or should field a team of all home grown talent. I certainly didn't. I didn't get within pissing distance of anything like that and I don't think anybody else did either. Maybe I missed somebody elses post. Entirely possible.

That's okay, I did not make that post for an audience. ;)

You are correct. No one suggested that we would field a team of all home grown talent. But there are certainly strong suggestions here that within a year or two, we would have home grown talent at virtually every position.

that was never happening. I knew it at the time. They're a big market media team, you can't be a big market media team and just sit there serenely while the image of your team gets destroyed by consecutive terrible seasons. They were going to be pushed to Do Something. That was a given.

Do something? Absolutely.

Do a complete reversal on your philosophy? No.

And as I've said many times, it's because Boston fans are impatient. There is very little appreciation for the long term picture here. It's all about doing whatever it takes to win now, to heck with long term ramifications.

Ok - I may regret this but here goes. What do you think that they have done other than make one trade (you have been very clear about your feelings about that trade) that has long term ramifications? Benching Sandoval and starting Shaw? A philosophical change with respect to not letting the size or length of a players contract dictate playing time? the fact that Ben is no longer with us? The free agent signing of Price? Do you honestly think that the Price signing will have a negative impact on who or who they will not be able to acquire in the future?

I forget to mention Castillo's situation. Did not see that one coming.

All of the above. More to the point, all of those moves represent the reversal of philosophy which is very concerning.

What philosophy? Which career?

From your perspective, I understand where you are coming from. I imagine that it is concerning to you. The other side of that coin is that there are many people who do not see these changes as dramatic philisophical changes. Personally I think that there is still plenty of work to be done, but I like what I have seen so far.

I certainly recognize the importance of depth and the significance of a strong bench. Trying to convince players who have earned the right to start that they would be better served by playing backup roles to someone who they have outplayed is not as easy as it sounds. From the outside, it might look like it is better for the team, but to most players looking at things that way might work for a while but not for long.

Philosophy points that may take a hit:

1. Not handing out big contracts, especially to aging pitchers, except in very rare instances

2. The use of analytics as a large part (note that I did not say the only part) of building a team

3. Making moves that are best for both the short and long terms, rather than a 'win now at any cost' philosophy

4. The importance of and prioritizing the farm system

Which career? Henry's baseball and business career.

Even though I think that we paid too much for both Kimbrel and Price, I have said many times that I liked the job that Dombrowski had done so far. Up until the benchings of Pablo and Castillo. I am very much in disagreement with those.

I am concerned with the direction in which he is taking this team's philosophy. But it may very well work. It may be that he will not be as aggressive in years to come and that there won't be as drastic a change as I am fearing.

It is far too early to assess Dombrowski. He is certainly much more qualified to build a team than I am. So while I will voice my concerns, for now he gets the benefit of the doubt.

So, what's the harm in giving Pablo and Castillo 1-2 months of regular season starting time to see if they can bounce back? If they fail, you bench them at that point, and the same message is still sent.

There are many benefits to doing that.

Ha. My phone would not be able to handle the overload.
