Nava was going down no matter what. He wasn't playing well. He got options. The way the OF is composed, they have to hang onto everybody in case Victorino gets hurt again at some point. What a disaster this OF is.

Vic isn't there tonite. I hope the Yankees get 7 runs off Wilson.

I swear these guys are just trying to create copy for the talk shows.

This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard since the last time you said something. I love Nava, I was really hoping he would get back into the swing of things, but from a front office AND dugout standpoint, I understand and even support the decision. I think, given enough time, he would again play like he did last year, but the Sox don't have the luxury of waiting more than a few weeks. So their choice to send him down was the right one.

Is it possible to be dumber than dumb?

I'm with you Youk.

This was a good move. Wilson was needed in the pen because the relief staff was used extensively in the past few days. In particular, Capuano and Badenhop had thrown about 70 pitches.

Oh, Victorino was "there" last night. He was dressed and in the dogout. He even jogged onto the field at the end of the game.

Of course I may be totally wrong here.

The Sox may have brought Wilson up for one night to take advantage of his enormous star qualities so the NESN ratings could be boosted. Something has to be done to fight that terrible media dollar advantage the Yankees have!

I never said anything about Nava in the quote. who's dumb?

I guess nobody around here cares that Victorino, one of their best players, was held down in Pawtucket in a couple of highly visible games against the Yankees, while some 2nd rate reliever Wilson, was brought up to sit in the bullpen a whole game without getting off his ass.

He promptly used up his return bus ticket the next game so Victorino could finally get to earn some of his $13 million salary. Just to keep the record straight.

They held him out because he wasn't ready. Shut the f*** up about it.

When Wilson was in the bullpen, Vic wasn't even in Pawtucket. He was all cozy in the Fenway dugout!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Nava not hitting is worthless to the Sox. JBJ not hitting still gives you above defense in CF. I still think that once it warms up a lot of the Sox hitters will pick it up. JBJ included. He is not going to put up Ellsbury numbers this season, or maybe ever, but he still can hit enough to keep his glove on the field.

No he can't and no he won't. His own words tell all....."I'm confused and I'm a mess". Punch his ticket to Pawtucket----six or seven weeks later than it should have taken.

Bradley plays defense and has shown impressive plate discipline for someone his age. Nava is trash in every aspect of the game except working the count and getting on base, and he was doing an absolutely miserable job of that this season, leading to his demotion. Your argument is invalid.

You were probably begging for Pedroia to be sent down in 2007 as well.

And who would come up??? If there isn't a better option, they aren't moving him.

Nonsense!!!!! Bradley cannot hit and he strikes out over a third of the time so that plate discipline goes out the window since he doesn't walk very often either. As for defense, yes, that's what we need defense........we've lost ten games this season by one run. I think a little more offense for defense might be a good idea so maybe we start winning more of these one run games. Moreover, I was one of Pedey's biggest supporters and on Dirt Dogs was clamoring for him to be brought up before he was in August, 2007. You have me mixed up for some of those other guys who were shouting for a trade for Ronnie Belliard (remember him?) or for Alex Cora to me made the regular second baseman, so you are absolutely wrong there. No, I think my argument is very valid.

We could bring back Nava, put him in left and see if he has gotten his stroke back. The guy hit 303 for us last season; you just don't forget how to hit in six months. My opinion only but I think Sizemore can still play CF and, besides, we've lost ten one run games this season. I think it is time to sacrifice a little defense for more offense. Maybe if we had done this we would have won half of those one run games that we have lost.....know where we'd be if that had happened? FIRST PLACE!!!!!!!!!

But Sizemore is barely above the Mendoza line so not sure how that supports your request for more offense.
