I didn't follow baseball in those years but my most disappointing moment would be the collapse that we had in 2011.

2011 was interesting. What do you prefer the slow burn of 2011, having the rug pulled out from under you (buckner) or something in the middle (the Aaron Boone game), Personally, the season was becoming such torture that I was prepared for a mercy killing to some degree.

I'm embarassed for you right now. These comebacks are pathetic for someone from Brooklyn.

If I wanted to sit here and watch Brooklyn get bashed, I'd go to a Nets game.

Hobson had an excuse. He was a coke addict. Do you remember the story about the time he went home and left his kid at the ballpark? That must have gone over big with his wife. The Hobson days were a dark period. I was pissed when they gave Walpole Joe the bum's rush out the door because they were afraid to lose Hobson to another organization. Morgan Magic was an exciting time after brainless McNamara got canned.

What I do remember about 1986 was that out here in So. Cal the Angels were talked up as a team that could actually go all the way in their 26th year while the Dodgers were in deep s*** and barely missed finished last in the NL West. The press out here were saying the Red Sox might be the only team to stand in their way. That's how it turned out to be. In the NL, the Mets were considered the class of the league so seeing the LA press was right and that the teams expected to win won and met in the WS.

Neither LOL but if I had to choose something, probably something in the middle, IDK.

As you said, that September was a damn torture, and unfortunately some of us predicted it in late August (since lack of pitching).

Very clever. I'll bet that you gave yourself a high-five after you posted this^.

He is very clever. He doesn't seem to be the type to "high-five" himself.

Let it go Teddy Bear and move on. Please and thank you.

He's not and I will not.

Man you gotta give it to the Teddy Bear....he's not lacking in either confidence or stubbornness. That is usually a winning combination.

True. That's what happens to some men when they get older. Especially the stubborn part. Kinda like sbf. iortiz is an enigma. It's an alliance I will never understand. More power to them.

Because, overall, life is good!

Life is good. A banner will get raised at Fenway in April. Spring Training is right around the corner. As for getting older, I don't think that 55 is that old. Aging has nothing to do with my stubbornness. I have always been that way.

Wonder why didn't you recommend this to MVP a couple of posts earlier? Say the #62.

55? C'mon, You are a kid man. I'm not proud of this but my dad is 58 and he is still a Casanova, I think that girls find him more handsome than in his 30's or 40's LOL!.

He is and good luck with that.

NO he's not. He comes out with sarcastic and nasty posts simply to try and embarrass others and make himself look good, and for the record VA I think you have a blind spot for the guy. If you read his nasty missive to both Ted and I you could see for yourself---even if you don't want to. When he stops iortiz, 700, Sox Sport and I will stop too. There is no reason for him to act like a total jackass.

Stubborn my ass VA. I have a point of view and I defend it, and I also respect the opinions of others until they get nasty and personal with me. Then I go after them with everything I have only to hear them complain that I went too far. Screw them. Agree or disagree with as you or others wish but don't get personal because I will get personal right back. Now if we all remember that we can have peace on this board. As for the alliance you talk about, iortiz, 700 and Sox Sport and I have just hit it off from the start, pretty much like you mvp and User have.

Fighting on an anonymous internet forum has to be the most useless practice ever. Yeah, you're really gonna get the best of somebody by putting unkind words on their computer screen.

The same reason you never tell your buds to let it go but mostly because #62 was very funny.

And our Golden Girl cast member finds that amusing ;)

Yes I do Mr. Matthau. And you're about 6 years older than me Golden Boy ... ;)

I never tell my buds to stop because they behave civil and talk about baseball. I can't say the same about your boyfriends.

I am glad that I am Matthau. He was the fun one-- a sports fan and a gambler. Which Golden Girl would you want to be? Edited by a700hitter
