Not necessarily.

Last night, I saw tickets for the Pavillion Box (really good seats, actually my favorite seats at Fenway) starting at $69.

On the official site? Not stubhub or anything like that? That is a steal imo. I wanted to sit there, but I wanted to go to 3 games so I sat in RF. I plan on taking a trip again next year and doing 3 games again. I'll buy my friend Spudboy at least one ticket so we can experience it together.

Thanks! I'm really just kidding -- my girlfriend says she is buying me tickets. I am a bit concerned though... the Red Sox lost on my birthday in a game 7 not too long ago, and it was a bit of a bummer.

Don't worry, we'll end it in 6. ;) She's a keeper if she buys you Sox tickets. You and Forsyth sure know how to pick them haha.

As Game Thread Creator, I demand that NOBODY CHANGE ANYTHING from last night.

This includes sigs (other than Jacko) and avatars.

Don't even change your underwear.

I shaved and changed my underwear. Sorry.

I'll wear the same clothes when the game comes on, will have an ice cream sundae and won't drink any beer.

Nope, on Stubhub.

This team was pressing as bad as I've ever seen a team press yesterday, basically until Pedroia hit that wall ball double.

I completely expect much, much more competitive at bats tomorrow afternoon, even against Verlander.

My best guess is that the Sox, after the layoff, were off a bit, then Sanchez was on top of his game, and it just exacerbated things. By the time G2 rolled around, things just got worse and everyone was trying to hit a 5 run homer with nobody on base.

Getting that first W and getting a bunch of knocks is really going to loosen up this offense.

The Sox have found ways to win games that Scherzer has pitched. Back in September, we won that 2-1 game in which Lester pitched a dandy. Pretty interesting considering how dominant Scherzer has been.

Fenway franks suck. I rather pay for an overpriced papa gino's personal pizza instead.

Trust me, a cold slimy Fenway Frank in late October tastes better than any hot dog you'll ever eat:p

That being said, $6 for those personal pizzas is a pretty good deal -- it fills you up, and you don't end up spending your life savings on food.

I usually end up eating both of those at games.

Papa Gino's is great, but go screw...

The Sox were on life support and the plug was about to be pulled. As the priest came in to give them the last rites the Sox loaded the bases. For Papi to be the one coming up the baseball gods had to be looking down on Fenway. The homerun was like someone waking up from a 16 year comma (16 innings of just one run). Hopefully, this has waken up the Sox bats.

You went to the wrong hot dog stand.

The best hot dogs are basically in the LF corner of the concourse, where they also have vegetarian options (for directional purposes only, I'm not a vegetarian). They have grilled footlongs (not boiled hot dogs). Throw on some peppers and onions, absolutely delicious.

I'm gonna go ahead and back up Mike on this one, Fenway Franks are f***ing terrible. The chocolate ice cream in the batting helmet they have is awesome, though.

Whenever I go to Fenway I always get an Italian sausage from one of the outside vendors. My last visit was in 2005. I bought 3 of them for me and the family. The guy laughed and said I still owed him a dollar but not to worry about it. Pricy but tasty.

Anyone who needs a pick me up just read this thread from Papi's GS on and just try not to laugh or smile. Red Sox fans are the best fans and the best of all of them reside on this site. You guys are all awesome.

Was it 6 bucks? I thought I paid more than that. I got pepperoni, maybe that's why. The only thing that's at a fair price is the souvenir cup imo. It only cost 6 bucks and you can drink as much as you want.

Lmao, I guess I'll go screw.

Get a plate of nachos at Remy's before the game.

I will make sure to try them next time I go, thanks.

Thanks for the heads up, I was all the way in right field.

My goal was to try everything with the 3 days I went to the games. I couldn't pull the trigger with the ice cream in the batting helmet. I'd eat that thing in with one scoop.

Spot on. The Monster Dog is way better than the Fenway Frank. They're the cart next to the one that sells the pulled pork basically inside Gate C. I always get a sausage and pepper sub on the street, but inside I'll walk all the way around the park to get a Monster Dog.

He had that avatar up last night didn't he? Can't mess with it.

Hey Talksox. I'm only a few days from turning 20-something. I'm going to hold Talksox ransom, mentioning my birthday every single post until someone buys me an ALCS Game 6 ticket.

Is there going to be a Game Six ALCS game Pal? There better be because I'm supposed to fly to Boston and see it.......How about a sixth game but not a seventh and we win in six? No, I'm not getting cocky; I just would love to keep it from going seven but that means we have to win two in Detroit and finish her off at Fenway in one game. Of course, that might have been easier had we won both games at home this go-round.

I always enjoy coming into these threads retrospectively and looking at people's reactions. Not that I wasn't among the people who assumed the Sox were going to get shut out again. Great game

Been so long since I ws last on here, but it was not looking good. Bar for that 1 hit, being no-no'd in G1 & looked like the Tigers were on course to double the dose after that big 6th that they had. Last night, midway through tha inning (like 3 in the morning where I am) my GF woke up and caught me watching last night's game on my laptop. She knows bugger all about baseball, but even she could see hat Buchholz was piching he ball up and asked why he wasn't puting it lower in the zone. Now for someone hat knows not much to see something so obvious to all of us, why was this being missed by the coaches?

Am sure this is probably discussed somewhere already, but why was Buchholz left out there for so long with noone even up in the 'pen, even though he was clearly struggling?

Great comeback though. Ortiz winding back the clock to the glory days of old and the walk off at the end (aided by the throwing error and wild pitch) just saw how much that GS had knocked the Tigers psychologically.

Hopefully the Sox can build on that in G3 v Verlander.

That's right. I put it up in the bottom of the third after struggling to find someone.

Sounds a lot like me. A lot. Exactly what I've been trying to do.

Epic.

Work is overrated. Doesn't your company know it October is time for playoff baseball?
