  1. Been so long since I ws last on here, but it was not looking good. Bar for that 1 hit, being no-no'd in G1 & looked like the Tigers were on course to double the dose after that big 6th that they had. Last night, midway through tha inning (like 3 in the morning where I am) my GF woke up and caught me watching last night's game on my laptop. She knows bugger all about baseball, but even she could see hat Buchholz was piching he ball up and asked why he wasn't puting it lower in the zone. Now for someone hat knows not much to see something so obvious to all of us, why was this being missed by the coaches? Am sure this is probably discussed somewhere already, but why was Buchholz left out there for so long with noone even up in the 'pen, even though he was clearly struggling? Great comeback though. Ortiz winding back the clock to the glory days of old and the walk off at the end (aided by the throwing error and wild pitch) just saw how much that GS had knocked the Tigers psychologically. Hopefully the Sox can build on that in G3 v Verlander.
  2. After 2 quick outs nice work to really stretch that inning out & give Lester a few more minutes before needing to go back in. Shame we couldn't have put a run or 2 on the board though.
  3. FFS, Salty. 1 inning and already 2 pitches have got passed him.
  4. http://www.talkceltic.net/forum/images/smilies/83.gif I know precisely what you mean... I joined way back when for the exact same reason, lol.

  6. Valverde is a massive liability. After what happened in the ALDS the other night & again tonight, blowing a 4 run lead in the 9th, I doubt he'll be closing for the rest of the post season. Talk about letting the Wankees off the hook. As for Ibanez, FFS! Incredible pinch hitting this post season.
  7. There has been some really exciting finales to these games. Hoping the O's can force a G5 with the Stinkees & the A's going to have their work cut out against Verlander and the Tigers, but would be great if they could do it & progress to the ALCS.
  8. Another 12+hr marathon of post season ball lined up today Cards @ Nats already underway
  9. The Cards are building a commanding lead over the Nats in the 4th, 6-1 in G2 of their NLDS. Still 5 inn to play, so this one is far from over.
  10. Fckn Wankees... bust it open in the 9th! http://www.talkceltic.net/forum/images/smilies/47.gif
  11. Big win for the Nats. Considering the relative inexperience in terms of post season, it was so important to get a win in this first game - especially that it was so tight and having to come from behind late on. If anyone had any doubts about their pedigree, they may have to re-evaluate what these Nats can do. This win not only means at at worst they will head back to Washington with at least 1 W under their belts, it will re-inforce the belief within that clubhouse that they can really kick on from here.
  12. The Nats v Cards game is carrying on from the As v Tigers... Gonzalez is all over the place - 4 straight walks... Pressure of post season play turns routine into anything but.
  13. A's were their own worst enemies in that game - every time they went ahead, they would undo all their hard work by shooting themselves in the foot. Tigers now head to Oakland leading 2-0, when on the balance of play it should probably be 1-1... but that's baseball.
  14. A marathon of baseball coming up today, with 12+ hrs of play-off ball to be played.
  15. Former Red Sx CF, Coco Crisp gets A's off to the best possible start against Verlander.
  16. Stoked that the O's knocked out Texas. It is possible that they can split the games at Wankee Stadium & win 2 of the games at Camden Yards. Before that though, looking forward to the start of the Play Off's proper getting underway, with tonight's games between the A's v Tigers & Reds v Giants.
  17. That call to grant a time out to David Ross that he then swung on proved to be pretty costly for the Cards.
  18. Thank f*ck it's all over.
  19. 'TAXXXXIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Straight to the airport, please driver.'
  20. Dice K sucks. I'll be so glad to say adios to that imposter.
  21. WTF, Miller. Way to pitch into a jam & then blow the hard work over the past 3 inning.
  22. AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! F*ck, f*ck, f*ck, f*ck, f*ck, f*ck, f*ck, f*ckity, f*ck!!! What else can you say? FFS!
  23. C'mon Sox... so close... shut these Wankee-rs out in the 9th.
  24. The worst Sox team in almost 50 years.
