One of the greatest days of my life. Made pancakes for my 8 year old son and his friends after his birthday sleep over. Enjoyed a great Church service. Then the whole family and I enjoyed a perfect Fall day and got our firewood all finished for the year. Pats game, pizza, beer, and this Sox game. Thank you God.

Does sound like the perfect day!

It feels as though that David Ortiz is on a personal mission to prove that clutch is a repeatable skill every time he steps up to the plate in a playoff game.

Jeesh, where the hell were you. No VA in a GT is not good mojo.

My nerves have been shot. Doesn't help posting out here with all the doom and gloom when we're down 5-1 in the 8th.

What a great team!!!!!!

Keeping the Faith as always!!!!

I had a near perfect day of my own. 11 inning baseball game in which I scored the winning run on the best slide of my life, followed by a birthday party with the family, and then this. A Jets win would have made it perfect.

Calling it now - front page of the Globe tomorrow (or maybe sports section) is Hunter's feet sticking up over the wall with that cop raising his arms in the background

Just beats out the Pats comeback. I bet you're right though.

That cop was Awesome!!! Glad Hunter is ok.

Good news is that Pedroia is hitting with 2 hits tonight. When he hits, the Sox win. It is as simple as that.

So true!

... Plus, the psychological moment is on our side.

What they really should do is put the winning catch in the Pats game and Ortiz's home run side by side. That could make it a collectors item for Boston sports fans.

We need you to bring the positivity. The GT wasn't that bad considering how miserable they looked for 7 innings after a miserable performance last night.

Nervous energy takes me all over the place!

So many posters were talking about this being a must win. I really wanted to leave Fenway with a 1-1 record but didn't feel like it was a must win. But what a beauty it was!

Just hope to be able to sleep! So excited.....still!!!!

This team is amazing!!! Can't see the replays enough!

So seeing as I didn't watch the game tonight, does this mean I'm gonna have to take one for the team from here on out?

All I can say is that I feel so f***ing happy I could s***!!!!!!!!!

YES!

And why didn't you watch?

How close did Hunter's glove come to catching that ball. It was an awesome effort.

Yes it was and if anyone could have caught that ball, he would have. Damn that was awesome!!

I think that Detroit's strategy was to throw first strike pitches thinking that the Sox players want to work the pitch count and obviously Big Papi thought that also. I would hope that the Sox come out swinging on Tuesday and then settle into working the count after the 2nd or 3rd inning.

It was close from some of the reply angles. Amazing win. I called a buddy to find that he was sleeping ... he could not believe it ...

What an unreal win!!!! I was at a wedding all night so I missed most of the game you could imagine my reaction when I saw the game was tied at5 after being down 5 zip. I really do think this series will go 7 games. I knew Detroit would be no easy task but one stp at a time. The series tied at 1 a piece is a hell of a lot better the. Being down 2 0. So proud of this organization!!!

Too stressful. I can't sit here and watch every pitch during a 7 game series, I'd lose it. I need to take a break to keep it together.

I understand....completely! Unlike the regular season, I look forward to off days in the post season so I can relax a little!
