Middlebrooks simply doesn't care about putting much effort in hitting the ball.

Never stretches or bends his knees to hit the low ones, and I would understand that if he was as old as Papi, or had 250 pounds.

I don't understand why everyone hated JD Drew so much. He was terrible in 2011, granted, but he gave us an .824 OPS and a 114 OPS+ overall. He had some injury issues but he was very good when he did play. People ripped him night and day and hate his brother based off of the family name alone.

I don't think folks had 40 HR kinds of expectations for JD, not in this ballpark. Maybe not in any ballpark. It is tough to engender much loyalty from fans that are waiting for the next hang nail induced trip to the 15 day DL. I think JD performed pretty much as advertised but was too easily displaced from the lineup. The Boston crowd was always going to be tough on JD under those circumstances.
