  1. seriously, how come Tazawa is still on this team
  2. adding some variety. everything's fine now, just another mlb.tv hiccup.
  3. anyone having trouble with mlb.tv? says the game's blacked out...and I live in Europe. other matches work just fine.
  4. Ted Williams was right, pitchers really are the dumbest players on the field. Hats off, Andrew.
  5. f***, that's an ugly bunch of mustaches
  6. We saw some positives about this rotation last week, but these couple of games haven't been that much encouraging. Really don't know what to think about these guys now.
  7. Porcello's arm dislikes this inning.
  8. Never really liked Ogando, never looks confident enough and plays like he has the handbrake on. But hey, a nice winning percentage might help him relax along the season and focus solely on perfecting his pitches.
  9. Let this boy play already, don't care where, and neither does he.
  10. Thrilled to see Joe have such a great opener to the season. Farrell, dafuq?
  11. From what we've seen so far, this rotation might actually pull it off, at least until the next trade deadline. It's a matter of health rather than performance, at least with guys like Buchholz or Kelly.
  12. I did it all for the Mookie
  13. If Yankees are really interested in signing him, I can't see him becoming anything other than an improvement to that horrific middle infield.
  14. Mine as well, but I don't believe his agent will share our views instead of clinging to every detail out there.
  15. He has a projected 3.1 WAR, 14th highest among pitchers, which could help him earn a lot of dollars on the market, he's ranked above Cueto, Hamels, Zimmerman, Shields, Samardžija and Wainwright in that category. Zimmermann is surely someone we'll go after next offseason, but he'll earn $16,5M in 2015 and look for a substantial raise, Lester got only $13M in 2014, and we still couldn't strike a deal.
  16. Jon kind of wanted the fans to know that all along, you could have read it between the lines every time he said he would like "to feel wanted" wherever he signs. Yes, more and more pitchers are being overpaid, but that's just the reality Ben will need to come to terms with, if we want to stay competitive and not get stuck with more Mastersons and Mileys next year.
  17. I didn't really like the idea of signing Shields while other options were on the table, but now I wouldn't mind it that much. When it comes to injury concerns, one could argue he is probably more reliable at 33 than Cueto will be at 30. I'd have trouble with anything longer than a four-year deal for Shields, though. Money-wise, it all depends how confident the FO is about extending Porcello's deal, but does Porcello (although soon in his prime) really have that much upside to be worth more than Shields next winter? And he will demand around $20 million per year, but maybe wouldn't mind signing a shorter termed deal that would help him sign another big contract at 30.
  18. I wouldn't expect a #1 unless Farrell's planning to send Kelly to the bullpen. I'm not impressed with the rotation, and it looks like we'll take the risk and wait for August.
  19. It's nice to see Ben managed to offload Webster and Wilson, and still managed to get something valuable in return. I never got the feeling they should be someone the team should rely on in the future. So that's it, welcome James Shields? The quantity would be there with him, Porcello, Miley, we'd just have to hope for the best with everything else.
  20. Sure, Cueto would be perfect, but Reds don't want to trade him and would just ask for too much in return, so I wouldn't bet on it.
  21. Hopefully they sign two more guys now that Miley's here. A Cespedes-Porcello deal sounds fair, but with Shields being the only realistic free-agent option, I'd rather see the FO come up with a trade for someone to lead the rotation. I'm kind of convinced they'll take a gamble and offer Masterson a chance for redemption, if they manage to sign a good #1 starter.
  22. Shame he won't lead the rotation anymore, but the FO didn't see him as someone who should be the second-highest-paid pitcher out there every spring, and that makes some sense as well. Just please don't sign Shields.
  23. Nice one, stood his ground out there 'til the end. Offense!
  24. Obscurity ends with the heavy metal name for a country (Black Mountain in Italian). Just a land of fancy beaches and NBA centers, really.
