What do we do with Will Middlebrooks? Do we send him down, or let him hit his way out of his slump?

Right now he couldn't hit his way out of a wet paper bag, let alone a slump, but what are the options?

Middlebrooks simply doesn't care about putting much effort in hitting the ball.

Never stretches or bends his knees to hit the low ones, and I would understand that if he was as old as Papi, or had 250 pounds.

This way, he just looks like he needs a lot of private lessons from Pedroia.

He stays. He may get a day off here or there, but he's just a free swinger and pitchers are figuring him out.

 

His D has been rock solid though.
