I'm watching that game right now here in So. Cal. It is 2-0 now. Here I am watching two teams that I despise. Go figure.

Wow that Kershaw leadoff home run to start the bottom of the 8th, has really caused the Giants to implode this inning. Kershaw has pitched a beauty 8 innings, 85 pitches, 3 hits, 7 K's. The Dodgers have the bases loaded with no outs since that point, trading a out for a run now. it's up to 4-0 since Kershaw's 400 ft. bomb over the centerfield wall.

Kershaw is in the on deck circle again, in the same inning, he's literally done it all today!

Personally, I thought he did better than the box score showed. He had one base runner early that Salty dropped a strike 3 call. Then, in the 2 run inning, there was one broken bat hit, two hits that ran right along the foul line, and one hit that hung in the air for a while, but found the rare patch of ground between Vic and Ellsbury. There was also a bunt by Cervelli.

He certainly didn't find himself getting smoked all game, that's for sure.

Thanks for the update. That's great to hear! I think Lester can lose confidence pretty easy at times. So getting off to a fast start for him is huge. Probably a big weight off of his shoulders.

The Yankee team is built with some good depth, if you want to call it that. It isnt depth when the players you will rely on for maybe a handful of games a month or in a pinch for a 15 day DL stint are your starters for 2 months. I completely didnt factor in the loss of Swisher. We better get a lot better performance from our SP's or else we're f***ed

Kershaw has pitched a beauty today, final line: 9 innings, just over 90 pitches thrown, 4 hits, 7 K's 0 ER and 1 400 foot bomb over the centerfield wall.

I want Clayton Kershaw to be a Red Sox bad....

Clayton Kershaw will get the richest and longest deal ever given to a pitcher. And immediately after the ink is dry, I hope he and Greinke blow out their shoulders dry humping each other after snorting Ritalin and Prozac

Kershaw is ridiculous. How do you get a hit off that guy. He presents the usual probs for LH hitters. However the way he hides the ball behind him, you actually get less time to react to his pitch from the right side than the left side. He is just impossible.

Sox got a better chance prying away King Felix from his long deal than getting Kershaw.

It all depends on Kershaw. He might look at the market and realize that absolutely no one of his caliber is hitting the open market for a long time. With numerous aces signing 100 million dollar contracts, it makes his own value go up. He might want to check to see if anyone is willing to give him a A-rod size contract on the open market.

Not to mention that we will feel a helluva lot better than Yankee fans the rest of the day and tomorrow. If Buchholz pitches as he did in Spring Training we could go up 2-0, and that is what I expect just as I expected a victory today. Hey, tell the truth Palodios, didn't you really feel we would win today? I just knew it last night.

The one wart in all this is that I wished Lester could have gone more than five innings. No problem now but I don't want to see this thing get to be a habit for our starters. We don't want them gassed by August. Now let's make it two in a row on Wednesday.

I don't get on the game threads during the game Pal. I'm simply a single task person. I let my wife Linda do the multi-tasking. GOOD DAY ALL AROUND.

If it makes you feel better, Verlander only went 5 today too. Both had 7 Ks, which drives up the pitch count. Lester's stuff played really well today. Those Ks, the movement on his cutter, and he was touching 94-95 today, all encouraging signs. Certainly needs to go deeper, but he was only at 96 pitches through 5. Extremely high, but he could have gotten 6 in. It looked like he was battling himself out there a bit today at times. Good building block to limit the damage to 2 runs out there in the 4th.

I would bet that with Kershaw holding all the cards and the Dodgers having all the money all any other team would do is drive up his price...one that the Dodgers will pay. They would have to have rocks in their heads not to. Ya' pay Agons, Beckett and that stiff Crawford and let Kershaw go? Don't see it.

For those wondering, Lesters cutter last year had horizontal movement of +2.41 inches.

Today, it was back down to -0.05. That's nearly a 2.5 inch increase in downward movement. Very sharp today.

He looked good in Spring Training, and he brought it over into the Regular Season. Anxious to see if Buchholz can do the same on Wednesday.

Lets face it guys: its good to beat the snot out of the Yankees no matter when it is during the season and no matter where both teams are in the standings. Great start! Keep it going on Wed!

I thought Lester looked solid minus the 4th. My only gripe with him is that he seems to fall in love with the cutter in to righties with 2 strikes. It seems like he has trouble putting hitters away with this pitch, lots of foul balls that drives up his pitch count. I would love to see more 4 seam FB on the putter part of the plate to try to conserve more pitches.

This bullpen is going to be so nasty this year. Wow, everyone throws 95 plus out there. It seems like we can almost make games 5 inning games, which should allow us to be very successful. I also loved the emotion the sox showed today. This team is going to win back alot of fans by seasons end.

In closing, I would be super depressed if I was a Yankees fan. That team is garbage right now, and could be very behind in the standings early.

Why in the f*** would Texas let Uehara run. He had a .64 WHIP last year. Only 36 innings, but still, that's crazy s***. They definitely went cheap this offseason.

In fact Jacko I heard driving home from a high school game tonight that the Dodgers are ready to open up their bloated wallets to give Kershaw half of Los Angeles. Your Yankees had better save their money for Cano as well because rumor has it the Dodgers have their greedy eyes out for him as well.

I been feeling pretty good all day SFF and it does take a little sting out of it to know that Verlander only went five as well. We still will need our starters to go deeper in games than they did last season to help keep the bullpen sharp and ready. I also thought he would go in the sixth since he finished strong in the fifth, but I think that was fine with Farrell. I got the feeling he was itching to show off his bullpen and except for Miller's two opening walks they pitched lights out. Now we need Clay to go out there Wednesday and pitch six or seven blowout innings. Two in a row over the Yanks would be a real confidence builder from where I'm sitting

Loving it. I had no idea what was going on during the game, as I was working, but I asked every single person who came in today wearing either a Sox or Yankees hat what the score was. It was nice seeing the Yankees fans' moods gradually getting worse.
