And it was against the Braves too which is a good offense.

Also, Maholm came into the game with VERY similar numbers to Sanchez, has been pitching real good, and he got rocked.

I saw Roger Clemens do that once, but he did that on purpose because when the runner was stealing second, a runner on third was bolting home so Roger Clemens jumped up to intercept the catcher's throw and get the runner going home. It was pretty impressive.

Watched Mariners vs. Angels a bit, another great performance by Iwakuma (one unearned run in 6th) , after helping his team win against Detroit and Texas, pitching against Verlander and Darvish.

Yankees won though....:thumbdown

I never thought I would hear myself saying this unless I was somehow teleported into an alternate universe, but I'm actually more worried about the Orioles. I think the fact that the Yankees are playing with a bunch of guys who are basically skin suits made from players who were good four or five seasons ago will eventually catch up with them. There is only so much baseball in Vernon Wells and Lyle Overbay and Jayson Nix before their molecules lose cohesion and they disintegrate, carried away gently on the wafting breeze like sand brushed off of a sarcophagus by a meticulous archaeologist.

For some reason I thought you'd see more since if it's 3-0 the pitcher would be more likely to throw one right down the middle for a strike. Granted, a batter is probably less likely to swing 3-0, but that doesn't make the pitch any less hittable. I'm probably missing something though, that's interesting that not too many HR's are hit at that count.

There is a major pressure component on the hitter on 3-0. You're always coached that if you swing on 3-0, you better get it. And some coaches have everyone take on a 3-0 count uniformly.

It's a law on my team, no one swings 3-0 haha Myself personally hate swinging 3-0.

Great managing by Redmond tonight. Bottom of the 4th, 2 on, 2 out, down by a run he lets Jose Fernandez bat and he Ks. Then he brings out a new pitcher for the top of the 5th.

The only rational explanation for that is that Fernandez hurt himself in the at-bat.

A's and Angels went 19 innings last night. Gotta suck for both bullpens, although Jerome Williams and Brett Anderson did about 5-6 innings of relief a piece. Moss was the hero with a 2 run walk off.

what the hell happened to Halladay? I haven't been able to watch any of his starts this year, but what is up with him? His stats are absolutely awful.

He's been a horse his whole career. That amount of work with catch up with everyone eventually.

It's a shame because I wanted him to be the next guy to 300 wins.

That's not going to happen. He's 36 now and seems to have it caught up with him. That's atleast 5 year of ace quality pitching to reach 300 wins.

Big fan of Halladay was well and want him to reach that. I think 250 is possible and should get him a great chance to make the HOF. He's a top 5 pitcher since 2000.
