The only other scenario I can see that making sense is if he was removed for a pinch hitter in a key at bat. He was pinch hit for, but it was to lead off the inning, which might make sense in a 1 run game, but I wouldn't have pinch hit for Gonzalez in that scenario unless there were runners in scoring position, since it was 1-0 but Gonzalez was pitching a gem.

HYes, it was a PH situation to lead off the inning. You PH for him if there are some guys on base and you want to get insurance runs.

Josh Beckett get pulled early after another bad outing, this time vs. Washington. He went 3 innings (68 pitches) 3 hits, 4 runs, 2 of which earned, and 2 walks. The Dodgers are down 4-0 to Washington and that brings Beckett's season ERA to 5.19. If Washington holds on, Beckett would be 0-5 with his 100th career loss.

Granted Crawford, Gonazalez, and Punto are all doing well for the Dodgers, but it at least pleases me that Beckett isn't.

Bryce Harper did a Peter Reiser last night running face first into an OF wall. He cut up his face, but the kid must have a hard head, because he didn't suffer a concussion. Pete Reiser was a star OFer for the Brooklyn Dodgers who won a batting title in 1941. He was projected to be an all time great, but his career was ruined and cut short from the effects of running head first into too many OF walls.

Might as well get wheels on it so you can roll the rocking chair to your front porch where your rifles are to keep pervy guys like my away from your daughter and little kids away from your lawn.

I do like to stretch my legs ocassionally, but I don't leave the TV during a game.

The "battle of the aces" between Verlander and Darvish tonig has unsurprisingly turned into a slugfest: It's 8-4 Texas in the 4th inning.

Go figure the next game is a pitching duel between Rick Porcello and Nick Tepesch.

Miguel Cabrera is such a f***ing beast

Last season surprised me a bit, not that Cabrera won the Triple Crown but that there was so little fan fare. There was even a big debate about who the American League MVP should be..
