Ahhh....I was drinking too much vodka. Not anymore. I only have rum here now and I only drink rum as a mixed drink, not shots. I'm trying to take much better care of myself so my wife -to - be won't worry or get pissed.

She's worth the sacrifice.:)

Good for you spud! Glad to hear it! :)

In all of spring training I have witnessed this Ciriaco guy make only 2 plays' date=' a good defensive play at 2nd now and that walkoff a little while back. Who is this guy?[/quote']

I was about to ask this myself! He looks good defensively.

Yeah Lynn, she has changed my life. I know it sounds really mushy especially on a baseball board but I am really crazy about her. I think you would approve of her!

As far as I know he's still a black guy

other than that, I've heard nothing.

A low key black guy? This is the softest $142M player in history.

Soft? Please elaborate on your concerted opinion. You know. Based on all of your many years of direct interaction with him and your considerable knowledge of his personality.

Really.

Really, at that price your paying for a Terrel Owens/Ochocinco personality

I think he was smart to take the big money. I think the Sox overpaid.

I also realize that he is one of the most exciting and talented players I have seen in 46 years of watching baseball. He just has not shown what he can do while with the Sox.

I expect that he will sometime soon.

Hmm...

Rotation of Lester, Buch, Beckett, Doubront, Cook

Bullpen of Bard, Aceves, Bailey, Melancon, Morales, Rich Hill, Albers

Not terrible.

I agree with you, but my post and the others related to it I think were just having fun. :D

Not used to the rum I see :harhar:

spud, we're just letting the rum talk.

Crawford is an exciting player and if he bounces back to hit .300 and steals 40-50 bags, the Sox is in business.

I'm growing fond of this. But if we're going to have a sinkerball pitcher and a young kid to protect from getting rattled, we need Iglesias's defense up the middle.

It also gives the Red Sox a solid bat off the bench in Aviles, but Aviles was pretty bitter about being a bench player last year. We'll see what happens.

He has hit better than I expected. Still it's just spring training. Hope it carries through.

Adam Dunn hit two home runs today. Maybe his career isn't over?

that's funny - in my MLB 12 The Show franchise, Ortiz got hurt (broken ankle - out for season) so I traded some A ball closer for Dunn straight up and they accepted it.

I was playing the Marlins in Miami and the game was tied up 2-2 in the bottom of the 8th, man on 2nd. I PH Dunn for Cody Ross, and Dunn went yacka. Won the game 4-2.

Glad he's hitting well. He was my last round pick up in fantasy as well.

Aviles has kind of impressed me in the couple of games I watched him this Spring. If Iglesias starts the season in the majors or gets moved up to the majors shortly after opening day, then I would not mind trading Aviles if he really is bitter about being a bench player. We could use him as an outfielder and infielder, so he is bound to get playing time. If that is not what he wants, then we could trade him for maybe another bullpen piece/starter. I think Punto will do a solid job as a backup. He won the World Series last year with the Cards, so I like keeping him around for his veteran leadership. If we trade Aviles, then we have Crawford, Ross, Sweeney, Ells, and McDonald still in the OF, so we still have 5 OF's. I hope to see Iglesias named as our starting SS at some point this team season.

I say we keep Aviles honestly. We're going to need a backup for when Youkilis goes down. It's going to happen, and when it does, we need someone on 3rd base. Aviles may not be the best answer, but I could think of worse.

If anything, trade Punto. If Iglesias starts, then we already have one middle infielder with superb defense that can't hit. We don't need two.
