Pitching on Saturday in place of Beckett per 98.5.

Don't tell SCM! Too many pitches last start? "It can be cummulative sometimes."

Crap! I have tickets to that game. I wanted to see Beckett. Damn!

Yes. They need to bring him up or release him as of today. Let's see what he has. If he has nothing' date=' he'll be gone.[/quote']

Guess you didn't want him brought up. My bad...

I never wanted him signed, never wanted him in the organization. The fact that he is our plan B and we are in desperate need of a plan B on May 3rd is just very sad.

This is also sad

The news is not as good for Josh Beckett, who reported more soreness than usual after his start against Chicago on Sunday when he threw 126 pitches. Beckett will miss his start on Saturday and Aaron Cook will pitch in his place.

In a game like yesterday's' date=' Cook would have thrown strikes and made the batters get themselves out.[/quote']

I never wanted him. He is the best of our s***** options. I'd rather he start in place of Beckett than Achinson, but I never wanted the guy. I hope he does well and his healthy for the first time in 5 years, but I am not expecting much.

Eh' date=' nothing to be overly worried about.[/quote']They say "more soreness than usual" but they don't say where. Typical Red Sox. Next week they will spring another surgery on us.

Then I'll relent that we are in trouble. I doubt it's anything too serious, though.

V was sort of cagy in his discussion of Beckett today. He said Josh would miss one start and that would be that. I suspect they think he is OK but don't know for sure as V was really hedging in the way he discussed it.

I am not sure we will know until the next start that Josh does make. I am cautiously optimistic.

V has been doing his homework then, studying the Cagy Hedging manual that was left behind by Tito.

He has a lat strain. They dont think it will last for more than one turn of the rotation. Lat strains are funny, though, and if it lingers on his throw day, he'll probably end up on the DL

This guy needs to never throw another pitch for the REd Sox.

He should never have thrown a first one.

Ask this fan whether a starting freaking pitcher "looking OK for the first 2 innings" counts for a warm bucket of ****

I really wonder about what is going to happen with Beckett. Not telling the coaching staff that he was hurting before going out there has gone over like a warm bucket of piss on a team that is just getting clobbered these days.

Josh always has to have things his way

Beckett is still feeling it apparently. My guess is he will end up on the DL

Where did you hear this? Last I saw, he said he threw (yesterday) and was feeling much better.

Lat strains tend to take a long time to heal. I think DL too. We'll see.

As for Cook, he had a shot at winning a spot. One shot and out. Time to get rid of him. Of course, they won't do that because our FO hasn't got a clue as to how to run a team. I know that because I see the results of their efforts.

It's time to get rid of him. He will be an ALE punching bag. Plan B is a failure. Time for Plan C.
