Also Robertson' date=' Aceves, and Melancon.[/quote']

Relief prospects are so volatile I probably shouldn't have even mentioned Coke. Or, for that matter, Bard.

Does anyone see a tad bit of an anti-Red Sox thing with Rosenthal?

It sounded to make sense when he said he was a native New Yorker in one of his recent pieces, I wasn't aware he was from New York. But, I'm not surprised

I also think you can just attribute it to the fact that it's Ken Rosenthal. His FOX in-game reports are not exactly insightful.

EDIT: If you go through that same thread, someone posts a link to an article Rosenthal wrote early in 2008 where he talks about how the Red Sox are extremely diverse, with all the players uniting in pursuit of one, common goal.

Ken Rosenthal is no talent ass clown that makes stupid comments that no one should even care about.

I issue an open challenge for someone here to find me a dumber, more useless sportswriter than Ken "Frodo" Rosenthal.

Joe Morgan, Joe Buck, Tim McCarver, and Buck Martinez.

And who the f*** is Murray Chass?

Used to write for the NY Times. He's bad, but if you're not a New York sports fan, you probably haven't heard of him. Unless you get the Times out of state.

I'm probably one of the few people that finds McCarver to very extremely baseball savvy. He says some dumb things from time to time, but so does everyone. When it comes to pitch selection, as one would expect, he knows his stuff.

they are still dumb as s***.

so is the guy who goes through my trash after I leave it out every Tuesday night, why don't you name him too?

I'm all about going for Holliday but I question if we are going to shell out a 180 million for him. If we were not going to go that distance for a more complete player in Tex I'm not sure they will do it for Holliday.

No one is going to go over 120 million for Holliday. Not even the Yankees.

Murray Chass

I don't know anything about Murray Chass, other than the fact that he has crusaded against "faith nights" and baseball chapel services in locker rooms on Sunday mornings, and for that alone I like him.

What's the deal with chapel services? Are the players forced to pray? I would be very opposed to that.

The Yankees main strength is their ability to not care how much they pay for FAs. The Red Sox main strength is an excellent analysis and scouting department and an owner who is willing to pay well over slot to get high upside players.

Mark Teixeira says hello.

Don't put too much faith in your scouting and analysis. What trade have you really made that has put your team over the top the last few years?

As for scouting, hard to argue with a group that got Youk, Pedey, Paps, and Lester. However, as a Yankee fan, don't be surprised if you hit a dry spell. The Yankees had the homegrown core of the last two decades, and then hit a dry spell. There were many of us who thought we'd keep churning out farm system stars.

The Yankees money is finally going in the right places. The Yankees may be able to shave 30-40 million off their payroll in the next few years and continue to outperform other teams at a very high level. If this money is ever put back into scouting and development and is effective, forget it. You may see a repeat of the 1950s.
