Webb is solid. Beckett is great but occasionally inconsistent -- he can't lead a staff but he's one heck of a #2. Vazquez probably deserves more respect than he gets but he's hittable and I like to beat up on ex-Yankees. I think Nolasco is an interesting value buy but given Florida's tendency to rush and ruin good pitchers, I don't put a lot of stock in Marlins pitching prospects. I don't know anything about anderson.

On the whole it's my honest opinion that Greinke-Shields-Zambrano-Bush-5th is a better staff

I like the front end but I'm not sold on the back 3, Vazquez is an average pitcher who gets a lot of Ks, Nolasco has only had one good year, and Anderson is unproven.

I've said it all along but I'll take my chances with my five guys over the next five years against all other rotations in this exercise except maybe DipreG's and Y228's.

Anderson is unproven but a Top 25 prospect who's already in the Bigs, so that gives me future points. And I really think Nolasco is going to be closer to his 2008 numbers than anything. Thanks for the input guys.

Webb is a true ace and until this year had been extremely durable. Beckett is a big game pitcher with great stuff. Health can be a concern with him, and you'd like a little more consistency, but definitely a solid #2. I agree with Kilo on Vazquez. He's never lived up to his potential. His peripheral numbers are excellent, but when he gets into jams he can't minimize the damage. He is very durable, though. You can pencil him in for 200 innings. Nolasco reminds me of Gavin Floyd. You don't really know if last year was a fluke for both guys, but Floyd is starting to turn it around. Maybe Nolasco can, too. His last start was impressive. Don't know much about Anderson, but he's only 21. Could be awhile before he figures things out.

Torii Hunter= solid bat, solid defense and some speed.

He rounds out my lineup, and'll give me at least 3 good years.

I'll back his ass up with a good prospect though.

Good pick. More than satisfied by my 3 outfielders but I thought Hunter was long gone. If I had it to do over again, I'd have taken him over Elijah Dukes. And then some.

Figgins is a good value pick, as is Hunter (though I'd be a little worried about his age). Nice to have a utility man.

As i stated, i'll back him up with a good CF prospect.

But i'm pretty confident i can get 3 very good/decent years out of him.

It was a dark and stormy Sunday night. Coco's Disciples was studying for his exams, as he had been doing for the majority of the weekend. Between reviewing some US History and Precalculus, he decided to check Talksox to see if there were any new offers for powerleveling or the sort. He had no idea of what was to come.

Once Coco's Disciples went to Talksox, he noticed that YanksHater213 was on the clock in the Draft, one of Coco's Disciples' favorite new things about the site. He went to check the Online Users to see if YH213 was online, and indeed he was. He was viewing the Draft Picks page. Good news all around, right? Wrong. After about five minutes of no pick, YH213 was no longer viewing the page. CD began to worry, though he still had confidence that the picks would be made. But then YH213 logged off. Little did CD know, this would change his life forever.

After a few silent curses at nobody in particular, CD went back to studying for 15 minutes. But he couldn't keep his mind off the draft. How could someone be looking at the Picks page one minute, then log off without making any picks the second? It was troubling to say the least. But hope was regained when YH213 logged on again. "Ah," CD thought. "He was probably just going to research some players." But researching he was not. After another logoff without any picks, CD was beginning to grow frustrated. He PMd YH213 with a soft and gentle reminder to pick. But no pick was made, and CD went off to bed a very sad panda.

After a nice summer's snooze, CD arose, and after taking a shower checked Talksox again for the draft. Immediately, the moniker "YanksHater213" glistened from the Most Recent Post in the Draft thread. CD was pleased to say the least, but this pleasure quickly disappeared as he read the series of posts. YH213 had decided not to pick due to PMs and douchiness. A dissapointment to us all. And now, my friends, we wait until the late afternoon.

Westbrook? Really?

I know he's injured. But he's do back by the end of the month. I figure I have 3 SP in the minors. I can make a gamble on a veteran like Westbrook. Pre injury he was a pretty solid SP. I know it's risky, but if he comes back strong from TJ surgery he could end up looking like a steal.
