Awesome has a noise?

you sure that's not just suck? Suck has a sound. I don't know that Awesome does.

How could you?

You're not awesome, so it only makes sense you're familiar with the sound of suck yet not with the sound of awesome.

Hey Kilo, could we get a ruling here? We basically have a guy who knows it's his pick and has declined to make it. Can we move on without him?

Seconded.

He's within his window, but he did say he would pick before the end of the day today.

Ruling is YH has til midnight to pick and then we move on.

its just nice when people participating in this have some common courtesy for others. im sure most of us have 3-4 names in mind when we see our picks coming up so we dont have to hold up the draft for 12 hours to mull it over

Common courtesy is overlooked by some indeed.

So last night, my left ear just goes out. Right around midnight. I'm pissed off because there's no way I'll be able to fall asleep with something like this. I knew the eardrum wasn't gone, because I had a small bit of hearing left. I go to the bathroom, and grab some cue tips to investigate. I put the first one in, nothing, although s*** starts to burn a little. I turn it around, put the other side in, much deeper this time. I twirl it around, do some digging. I pull it out, and the bastard is covered with dark ear wax and blood (or, a dark yellowish brown with hints of red everywhere). Worse, no improvement. Now I'm pissed, because I have to wake up at 6 the next morning for work and I'll be tired as f*** at this rate. I stick another cue tip in. No blood, but I pull out a mountain of ear wax. Still, no improvement. I figure at this point I have a clogged ear, and using cue tips does more harm than good. So I jump in the shower, and turn the water on. Because my shower is a giant piece of s***, only on cold water does the nozzle spray it with any force at all. So at roughly 1 in the morning I am suffering in the shower, getting drenched with freezing water, letting it go in my ear in hopes of washing the s*** out. Still nothing. I dry myself off, and finally fall asleep at around 2 am.

I still have the clogged ear today, dealing with it as I write this, and no idea how to get rid of it. I called in sick to work, since I really am not in the best of conditions.

Ear problems suck.

I inherited from my otherwise awesome father a condition (with a name i don't know in english) in which every so often a zit grows in my inner ear and causes the most excruciating pain outside of a toothache and getting kicked in the balls.

Ahh well I'm a little spoiled in that regard. I live less than a mile from no less than 2 top notch swimming holes.

Failing that, anything involving large quantities of steam can only help.

I'm not a Doctor, I'm not even Jacko! But I have many years of experience with chronic ear infections. You need to see a Doctor NOW. You likely have an ear infection and poor drainage has caused the ear drum to swell and rupture. Hence the blood. DO NOT put water in the ear. That is just THE WORST thing you can do unless you enjoy pain.

The Doctor will likely prescribe an anti-biotic for the infection and tell you to buy some Musinex (an expectorant that promotes drainage through the eustation (sp) tubes). Don't f*** around here! Your hearing is at risk as well as equilibrium.

Go to an emergency room if necessary. 24-48 hours later you will start to feel much better.

Tomorrow.

How a doctor's office in east bumf*** NH can be filled up on a day like this I'll never know, but its just my luck.

Go to an E.R. NOW! Please take my word for it.

JE I get my ears cleaned out every 3 months because of wax issues, it's awesome, they use a vaccuum.

I'll be making my picks within the hour, so you guys can all collectively untie the knots in your panties.

Phew. My wedgie was getting brutal.

Kuo: Needed a lefty reliever, he's entering prime years of his career, can strike guys out, and I think last year was a good indication of how good he can be

Bonaficio: Young corner infielder, potential filled switch hitter with speed, I'll take it for my bench. Won't develop power, but I like him as an option off the bench, as a switch hitter, and if he can develop his hitting a little more, he could be a pretty good average/obp guy.

as far as Kuo goes, I think last year was also a good indication of how a sharp innings increase can f*** up a pitcher's throwing elbow the following season

I took Valverde, strike out pitcher, doesnt walk a ton of guys, doesnt allow a lot of baserunners, 29 years old, bla bla bla

Posted

Kuo would be a good pick if he didn't have major elbow problems. He's had a couple Tommy John's so far and he has said if he needs another surgery on his elbow he's calling it quits.

I was expecting big things out of him in my dynasty league this year but I had to cut him loose because of his injury.

Chris Perez.

His stuff is filthy, he has a projectable arm, and he's pretty young.

High upside pick, i suppose.
