The catcher's interference seems like a terrible rule to me in this situation. I understand giving the batter first base if he puts the ball in play but why give it to him on a foul ball?

Even if Rasner gets the win today, he sucks. He is facinga terrible lineup without Vernon Wells and Rios. He is struggling every inning. Rasner is a bum. Ponson is a bum retread. With two guys like this in the rotation, this team cannot go anywhere. Recently, I posted that the mini -run by the Yankees was a temporary thing thanks to the efforts of Mo Rivera. He can't go 2 innings every day. With starters like the Yankees, they will need 4 innings from their pen 3 out of 5 days. No bullpen can hold up under that workload.

Well, three out of five pitchers have been quite good as of late for the most part, so it's more like two out of five days assuming Ponson pitches poorly from here on out.

EDIT: I'm guessing the other guy you're referring to in terms of taxing the bullpen is moose, but he has at least been going six innings in almost every start.

Pettitte just gave up a 3-run HR to Scutaro for a 4-0 Blue Jay lead in the second inning. The Blue jay lineup looks like a cross between that of a AAA and an Independent League team.

The Yankess lost the games pitched by their best starting pitchers Pettitte and Joba. Given Moose has been surprisingly brilliant - it is too much to expect that him, Ponson and Rasner will have the majority of the wins in that rotation.

This team is in lot of trouble.

I almost forgot - isn't Pavarno back sometime in August? He might save the year for the Yankess ( :D).

Posada didn't like Burnett's Joba impersonation:

Jorge Posada Jorge Posada didn't hide his displeasure when A.J. Burnett struck him out with two runners on to end the sixth inning of the Yankees New York Yankees ' 4-1 loss to the Blue Jays yesterday.

Posada was clearly annoyed at Burnett's celebratory fist pump.

"I don't want to comment on that," Posada said. "He is involved in the game and I am involved in the game and we move on."

Haha, YES usually doesn't show it when the overhead cam shows their guy getting a gift from the ump. Moose is getting an absurd plate tonight.

It's no anomaly to me. He's getting the Greg Maddux strikezone. Greg Maddux exibited dominance close to the level of Pedro with 4" on each side of the plate when he couldn't throw the ball through a pane of glass.
