Farnsworth is hitting triple digits...we need him to keep pitching like this.

Also...hello first place! We've missed you!

Tied for first place.

Posted
first place, nonetheless.
You have to make a remark even when I point out that the Yankees are in first. Then you wonder why people despise Yankee fans.

Correction. They are in first place, and thanks to the Three Stooges in the GM's office we had better get used to it.

I found this kinda funny:

Manager Sam Perlozzo said Tuesday that he's leaning towards starting Bruce Chen Friday against the Yankees.

That matchup has all the makings of a blood bath, so you'll want to stay as far away from Chen as possible in every league.

I was watching cold pizza, were the fans really chanting Bobby! Bobby! after he scored on the bases clearing double?

Im sorry but never have I heard such glorifying of a debut that featured-- 0 for 3, Walk, Run

Ooh he drew a walk with no outs in the 4th inning, even though he shouldve been K's on 2 borderline pitches. Game tying or go ahead RBIs then I can accept the chants/curtain calls

Posted

theyre so desperate for heros in the bronx they gave arod a curtain call for k'ing in the 9th rather than hitting into a 6-4-3 game ender the other nite

weve got our own issues

i wont be bustin ny for a while i guess

Yeah, they definitely weren't chanting "Ber-nie, Ber-nie". Why on earth would he get chants for hitting the bases clearing double?

Even Anne Frank could tell that they were chanting for Bernie.

Tell that to Yankee fan Woody Paige on Cold Pizza, just where I got my info

He's on 1st and 10 doing Professor Screwloose, which is about as funny as "The Adventures of Pluto Nash."

Seen Clerks II latley

And I think the main reason...other than it giving the lead, is becuase he tied Mattingly for 2nd all time in doubles.

And why you would ever want to watch anything that had Woody Paige and Skip Baylore on it is a story in itslef

I watch Cold Pizza each morning at work. What else is there to watch at 10? Anyways he was saying how the fans were chanting "Bobby! Bobby!", thats why I posted on here. Some times its hard to tell if Woody is joking around or telling the truth

I thought Id let you guys know about this

Boston Globe

Infielder Enrique Wilson was granted his release Monday and will retire. Wilson was at McCoy Stadium Tuesday to collect his belongings. In 62 games with Pawtucket, Wilson hit .222 with three homers and 18 RBIs

The one thing I will remember him for is Torre hitting him lead off in a playoff game. Wilson? leading off?

Carl Pavano (elbow) threw live batting practice Wednesday.

"I thought he was good," manager Joe Torre said. "If he feels good enough, we’ll do this in a couple of days." Pavano could begin a minor league rehab assignment near the end of the month.

Source: New York Times

Anyone want to take a guess what day he gets shut down with some pinky toe soreness or some s*** like that.

Had hoped he wasn't the Yankees' version of Kerry Wood, but who knows. And at least Wood has the benefit of the doubt that he could be something without the injuries.

He threw BP to Bubba Crosby and Nick Green. Torre REALLY doesn't want to hurt this guy's confidence, eh? He might as well thrown BP to Mariano and look dominant.

Joking aside, it would be nice to replace Wright with Pavano down the stretch if he could pitch. Wright doesn't eat up enough innings.

Francona had Wells pitch to Kapler and CORA. All we heard was rave reviews and that no rehab start was needed, well you saw the stats in the end against Cleveland

He was beat by Casey Blake (who happened to be on an absolute tear at Fenway) on long balls, and it was his first REAL start. It was a terrible outcome, but IMO it looked much worse than it was.

Cora's the man by the way. He's a very versatile and solid baseball player.

I wasnt bashing cora...

Clearly a 5 inning session to see if he can make a start soon for Boston, should include at least one of the regular position players. Im just not sold on Wells yet (Granted Tito took too long to pull him last time out). Saturday is going to be a big start for him.

Posted

I'm not sold either, but I'm not willing to sell him out yet.

I thought you were bashing Cora because you capitalized all the letters of his name, which I thought meant that you were placing emphasis on the weak bats that Wells faced in his session. My mistake, I guess.

Hmm, maybe Cashman picked up a relief pitcher on waivers?

No, he was called up from Columbus...I just can't remember his name and am too lazy to look it up.
