  1. Cheers, Yankee fans. Back to the real world.
  2. Beckett is a damn good pitcher. Any team with money coming off the books would pay him what was necessary to bring him in. Mets, Dodgers, Angels would all be in that group. With a good agent, that number will certainly be able to top $20 million. The Sox offered Tex over $20 million. You're crazy to think Beckett will get much less than Johan and CC.
  3. I love how everyone says Joba pumps his fist after every strike he throws. You clearly don't watch him pitch, as he really only does it in big spots. It was exaggerated because as a set up man, he was always in a big spot. A first inning strikeout of Nick Punto, and he'll walk off the mound to the left and wipe his brow. Fine, he was losing in the Boston game. But he can't be pumped for K'ing an important batter with two on and two out? It's not like the game was 10-2, it was still close, and that was a big moment to keep the Yankees in the game. People make way too big a deal out of it. I really don't care about the Huff thing. Although, I'd be embarassed if I were him. Joba has an emotional response to getting a big out, Huff is acting like a clown. If you think what Joba does is immature, then don't "stoop" to that level. If you want baseball played the right way, then walk back to the dugout and act like a 'professional'. You're talking out of both sides of his mouth by doing that.
  4. And yeah, I think it was '98. I was 10 at that point.
  5. Really. Oh s***, you like naked women! You must have never had sex! Hot naked women will always be appealing- before, during, and after you have had sex.
  6. I wasn't reading the whole conversation, so I understand what you're getting at with different body types. If I took enough steroids to hit 6 homeruns in the major leagues, nobody may think anything of it, but I definitely cheated to get there. I just saw a raw number comparison and thought it was pointless.
  7. Actually it was fun. Some chicks showed their boobs.
  8. The strikezone was inconsistent, but Sabathia was locating much better than he had been. Baltimore's lineup is no joke. This is the start they needed out of him.
  9. Because Mariano never bounces back from slow starts. He said his strength still isn't 100%. It'll get there, and he'll be fine. I hate how the media blows this s*** up. I guarantee you tomorrow everything on the radio will be about how the Yankees are going to win their next 30 games with A-Rod in the lineup, and Sabathia throwing shutouts. This knee jerk stuff is embarrassing.
  10. Cervelli just caught a complete game shutout. I guess he's better than Posada too.
  11. I've been to 4 Yankee parades in Manhattan, I'm content with my team's history.
  12. And if a player went from 5 to 10 homeruns that's a 100% increase too. And if a player went from 40 to 80 homeruns, that's a 100% increase! You get that as the numbers go up the more ridiculous you sound, right? A jump from 10 to 20 homers is not nearly as unusual as a jump from 20 to 40. Just as a jump from 5 to 10 homers isn't as unusual as a jump from 40 to 80. Hell, Bonds only increased 50% from 49 to 73.
  13. Taking a break from my thesis to say this- God damn. I'm not shocked, but I figured it was possible that Manny was just the idiot savant who knew how to hit. I'm just glad we can silence the retards who said Boston's titles were clean. There weren't many of them, but they were loud in their stupidity. It was frustrating. Back to work.
  14. The same thing I said in February about Sabathia and Tex being slow starters. You call it blind optimism, I call it being able to f***ing read statistics and interpret them. To each his own.
