  1. Fewf, I thought the announcer said "gone".
  2. Yeah I agree. And yeah, that's me.
  3. The Yankees have no class? Are we talking about the same team that cheered for the Sox at their ring ceremony? And what is this about the Yankees just wanting to win, it doesn't matter how? Rewind to the 2004 ALCS when they didn't bunt on Schilling. Mistake? Probably. But I'll take a guess and say that Torre figured that if they were going to win, they wanted to be fair about it. Anyway, I agree with 26. I think it was made into a MUCH bigger deal than it actually was. Let's be real here, worse things can and have happened. It is just because it's the Yankees, and its Arod. Same. Old. Boring. Story.
  4. Arod is starting to remind me of Britney Spears. He is a mental case who was has been negatively affected by his early success. It just doesn't seem like he's mentally stable. He definitely needs to shut up, I'm getting sick of his baggage.
  5. Wakefield is my favorite but I would want Ortiz and Papelbon on the Yanks.
  6. Oh fair enough, I didn't know that. I just assumed it was like "Hah Johnny we wouldn't pay for you even though you got us a ring but we are gonna pay up for this guy who isn't proven (arguably, WBC counts? or doesn't count? who is to say) in the AL MLB! :harhar: "...but that's why I come here, to be enlightened I guess. And no, I did not fall off the face of the earth. I'm actually even more present in RSN now that I live about 5 seconds from it's nucleus.
  7. OK so two days ago this deal wasn't going to happen so I put it out of my brain to study 24/7 for finals. Today I find myself walking to Shaws wondering what the hell all of those people were doing outside Fenway, and sure enough, Dice-K was signed. I am really indifferent to this. If he's great, that's great, if he's not, oh well. I watched some of the news conference and he looks like a respectable player that I will definitely not boo. I just hope that the tickets I get for next season are for games that he is pitching. Oh and giving him the number 18? Is it just me or is that a slap in Johnny's face that is so not deserved?
  8. I can't even believe it. I really dread to imagine what Yanks fans must have felt when they lost their captain in Munson, because even though Lidle wasn't the captain, or even on the team for an entire season, I am totally devastated. I guess it's true, only the good die young. Rest in peace.
  9. I was at the game, in the bleachers at the time of the homer, and if I caught it I would have just asked for a boatload of money, since I really don't give two craps about Red Sox signed bats.
  10. The Citgo sign is my nightlight. I definitely don't want them to change it!!
  11. No, you are not alone on that.
  12. Definitely Tim Wakefield. He's like the Bernie William to the Sox, loyalty, class, and tenure wise at least.
  13. My heart instantly went out to him when I read what he was diagnosed with because I remembered that the actor Richard Harris died from something either extremely similar to this or the same thing. Good thing is that he is in very good shape and I hope he recovers soon.
  14. I can sense the sarcasm. It's not just that logic I'm confused by, it's every stupid reason people come up with. It's getting really annoying hearing about the bashing of Arod and hearing people taking pot shots at some of the most petty things. It's getting seriously old and frustrating to see Yankee fans more interested in listing every reason why Arod is a sissy instead of basking in the glory of being 7 games up from the Red Sox. I could understand the harsh criticism when the Yanks and Sox were within a game of each other, but now the topic should be graduated from top headlines on PTI and Around the Horn seeing as they aren't saying anything new and are just beating a dead horse. I honestly couldn't give two shits if the guy sees a therapist, if he puts his necklace in his mouth, if he is shirtless in central park (which is a sight i wish i saw), or if he wants to be liked. /vent
  15. Yeah there are some idiots who think they can't like both Jeter and Arod. I was out watching a yanks red sox game a while ago, maybe june, and there was this group of guys who just wouldn't get off Arods back. I asked them what they had against him and this one guy answered for the group, "I'm a Jeter guy." The statement thoroughly confused me. I don't understand that logic at all, but its out there.
  16. Yeah that's what I was thinking. The only sense I can make of it is to compare it to swimming. When you have a big meet coming up, like leagues, counties, or nationals, you 'taper' for about two months before the big meet so you are able to be rested but refreshed and able to push your limit. That only really makes sense though if the Yanks expect him to not only be called up, but seriously contribute in September. I guess they are just hell bent on saving his arm and not overworking him because they think that he will be pitching for a very long time to come.
  17. Yeah what a knucklehead
  18. Yeah for sure. I'm slightly impressed. I thought he would be finished in the second inning after I saw the first.
  19. Has anybody seen this from projo? Sorry if it has been posted already
  20. Go Arod, go Arod, go, go, go Arod.
  21. Hey, if you want to buy this sweep you can go to this link
  22. I can't believe my eyes.
  23. Awesome game, awesome crowd. Loved the energy when Arod came up and hit that sac fly, and I loved even more the MVP chants for Jeter.
