  1. Yup, it took a while, but he is finally starting to hit... ...a little.
  2. I'm not sure there were that many teams interested. I don't remember hearing much noise. Outside of this forum of course.
  3. They don't want us to extend our players, and don't want us to lose any as FAs.
  4. I'd be shocked if SF traded Schmitt. They are too locked into Devers, Chapman, and Adames to rebuild, so jettisoning one of their top young talents makes no sense.
  5. FG has him at #53 as an SP over the past 3 seasons. Having a moderately better than average ERA plus averaging 29 starts has good value. Trying chop seasons into section for #3 type SPs won't yield meaningful results.
  6. I'd be shocked if the Angels traded Neto at all. And if they did, their ask would start with Tolle.
  7. You're buying on projected stats, not past stats. IMO, he should be a 30+ HR hitter at Fenway. Not for nothing, but we had a couple of threads about Adames & Chapman and people cited their OPS. Even without yesterday's eruption, Adames had a 1.004 over his previous 16 games and Chapman had a .765. They will age out, but a slow start doesn't mean they are finished.
  8. Playoffs are more about who has the best #1/2/3 SPs. That's what gives us a chance.
  9. What makes you think it's stupid? Starter 9.68 ERA 18/18 K/W Bulk Reliver 0.71 ERA 22/3 K/W If this was the old days, and this George Steinbrenner, he'd have fired mutha frackers. He had left a grease stain on the rug where someone's body had to be removed, just as a lesson to those that took their place. "BTW, what's that dirty spot on the rug?" "Oh, that use to be Joe. The Boss insisted we let the body decompose for a few days before removing it. And we still keep his head in the freezer just in case you want to see it" 6 bad starts with an ERA of 9.12 2 GREAT RP games with 2 ERs in 13.1 IPs 1 horrible start with 7 ERs in 5 IPs 2 HOF RP games with -0- ERs in 12 IPs. Oh, I don't know. Can anyone with a half a brain discern any type or pattern there? I don't say this lightly, but someone should be fired as an example.
  10. Anyone remember when some fans wanted him promoted to be a relief pitcher?
  11. .778 last year. About a .900 against lefties over the past three years. He's not THE answer, but even if we land Adames, we might need a 2nd bat. And the cost should be small.
  12. Paredes doesn't have a significant contract. Semien & Chapman are difficult to to add given their age & contract, and especially because they don't really add much, if any, offense. BB and Adames are worth discussing, but are kind of expensive. I'd prefer Adames.
  13. A week ago, some in here were making fun of the idea of Chapman + Adames. Adames now has 6 HRs in his last 14 games. And Chapman has a solid .762 OPS over the same period. That said, Adames is the better target, though SF is far less likely to trade him now.
  14. LOL! You must be reading my posts in MLB Rumors. I mentioned him earlier today. Perfect fit. Adell for Masa, we eat a ton of money, and we give up a couple of decent lottery tickets.
  15. Professional agencies, that have been around many decades, rank the prospects.
  16. KC was ranked #4 by BA, #7 by MLB, and #3 by BP. He was voted minor league player of the year. The list of minor league players of the year include: Frank Thomas Salmon Manny R Jeter Andruw Jones Mauer Trout Vlad Witt Dozens of other AS players You're trying to make this like the RS were making up his value. Everyone on the entire planet loved this guy.
  17. From what I've read, a drop in angle results in lower velocity, but higher spin. I think the more pertinent question is whether or not this was deliberate or forced as a result of an injury.
  18. Of course they have been a disappointment, so far. But you are the only person on the entire planet, no, in the entire solar system, that would've kept Miedroth instead of KC. That's simply not a real thing.
  19. Sending them the #4 and #14 prospects in BB instead of sending someone maybe ranked #200 is the single craziest thing I have ever heard of. Here is what the offer then becomes: KC #4 Mayer #14 Teel #25 Montgomery #66 And that doesn't strike you as a bit of an overpay?
  20. Mayer and Campbell should have been the pieces. Don't take this personally, but if CWS asked for Meidroth, and you countered with Mayer and KC onstead of Meidroth, that's kind of insane. But I'd love to have heard that conversation. "We would like Meidroth" "No, but would you accept the #4 and #14 prospect in all of baseball instead?"
  21. If you don't like Crochet, I have no idea how to process that.
  22. Insane that they wait until June to develop a strategy.
  23. It sounds like one more tweet designed to draw attention. I doubt that even a single person talks to Lance Dobbins, or even knows who he is. And I never like when family members make themselves part of the game,
  24. "Placing 100% of the pitching struggles"? Our rotation has been so good this month that we can't even blame our record on losing one of the best SPs in baseball. "Meanwhile, Dobbins ...immediately found success with the Cardinals"? Dobbins had a 4.13/3.87 ERA/FIP with the Red Sox and a 4.50/4.58 with the Cardinals. Has the world officially agreed to abandon numerics?
  25. From the article: Pitchers, like Garrett Crochet, who lowered his arm angle during his breakout 2024 season, and again during his excellent follow-up last season, to great success.
