  1. Taylor ward turns 32 in a few weeks, and hit 36 bombs with 103 RBI last year, which probably is enticing to Baltimore, which gave up a often injured SP.🤔
  2. Nobody knows what Abreu would do playing everyday, but there is only one way to find out. Duran is not going to be center piece for just everyone, but just one of the pieces. I think Duran would have had more value last off season than he does now.
  3. Exactly! Once Skubal hit the open market JH is not going to spend as much in that market as the BIG Boys would.
  4. I don’t see Skubal being traded before the season, and unless Detroit coughs up the money I don’t see anyway Skubal doesn’t hit the open Market. I also don’t see the Red Sox paying what it would take to sign Skubal.
  5. I would hate to extend Bregman any more years than he had on the table, but who knows. I’m sticking to the I’ll believe it when I see it stance, but I would like to see a Gomer, or two.
  6. Of course Brez didn’t spell out what he means by big.
  7. I don’t think Casas will sweeten anything. Coming off two years of injuries with the last one being a bad one I don’t think there would be much interest. The Red Sox tried to unload Casas last year with NO takers, and would be even harder this year.
  8. A lot of people on here are saying the Red Sox need 2 big bats, and a #2, but does the zRed Sox see it the same way? That’s what matters most, and will determine how things shake out. I keep saying I believe the Red Sox will fill in from within as much as possible, and anything more than that I’m in I’ll believe it when I see it mode.
  9. The Red Sox were never a better team last year without Raffy’s bat in the lineup. Could Raffy have been a BIG help in the postseason last year against the Yankees in Yankee Stadium? Yes, Yes, and Yes.🙈
  10. Didn’t the Red Sox use to have a pretty good hitter at one time? You know that DEVERS FOREVERS guy. Whatever happened to him? Seems like he was all the rave around here.🤔
  11. All I said was that you can’t count on Chapman to have a year as good as he had last year, and that as in past years with all the injuries the Red Sox have had they can always use more help in the backend of the BP.
  12. Duran, or Abreu would just be PART of the deal. No trades, and the Red Sox will just dabble in signings just like Gio, and Buehler, which isn’t good enough.
  13. The rumor was that the Red Sox wanted Castillo, and offered Casas, and Masa, but when that fell through the Red Sox turned to the Crochet deal, which they were working on at the same time.
  14. I know it sounds good to some to keep all 4 present day outfielders, but if the Red Sox are not going to sign a top of the rotation starter, which I believe they won’t then they only way is through a trade, which is where trading an outfielder would come in.
  15. I wonder what the brain trust of the Red Sox actually thought yes. Were they throwing more spaghetti at 2B, and hoping it would stick, or did they actually believe he could handle it. Past history I could believe either one.
  16. Last year is over, so I guess the only thing that matters now is if he is ready to win a roster spot wherever that may be, and produce, and earn that contract they gave him.
  17. Sometimes your athleticism will only get you so far when you face tougher competition.
  18. It’s not a big deal to be sent back down to the Minors. Look at Holliday of the O’s who was a highly rated prospect who struggled more than KC did, and had to be sent back down after being called up, and he hasn’t even come close yet to living up to all the hype he had.
  19. That could be true, but going as quickly as he did through the Minor Leagues could have hurt his developmental time, which might have been more needed.
  20. Agree, and it took him a long time to hit when he went back down to Woo.
  21. Thought he was ready, or hoped he was ready?🤔
  22. I know there still is, but I was really talking about last year.
  23. To me it doesn’t really matter the main reason, or how many reasons there are for things not working out for KC last year, The fact is it didn’t, but if it was just a slump why didn’t KC come back up to Boston?🤔
  24. Agree, but there was more than one staunch Duran supporters.
