  1. Very plausible, so that would make the Bregman PLAN A theory a sham, sham, sham! So who was going to be the big bat?
  2. So you think he didn’t want Breggie longterm, and created the Raffy mess for a one, and done, and didn’t want Raffy either?
  3. There was more than 1 issue most likely, but the thing that gets me the most is the Red Sox have Ranger more PDV than they offered Bregman for the same amount of years after the fact.
  4. I’ve answered, but just not the way you like. For myself I don’t have to know what exactly happened to form an opinion just like you don’t. Like I said this was talked about all around baseball on several different venues, and they all had an opinion. What’s silly is you constantly thinking you have to defend Brez just like you do JH when someone says he’s cheap when they have a different view of what cheap is, and like you defended Bloom back in the day. You keep saying you are not, but you really are, and that’s what’s so silly.different views lead to different opinions and you can’t stop it.👋
  5. I think we know what happened through different accounts. What we don’t know is if Brez was all on his own, or had some restrictions from above namely JH. Of course I’m not criticizing, or blaming Brez just like others are not apologizing, or defending Brez. What we do know is Bregman is a Cub, and Raffy was shipped to SF for a one, and done.🤭
  6. The process is what gets you to the final result. No I didn’t want Bregman, buts it’s never been about that with me. All I said from the beginning is that Bregman was PLAN A, and some on here said just get the deal done, and the Red Sox didn’t get him, and from what I’ve heard from AJ, and others I think Brez’s negotiation had something to do with that, or at the very least didn’t help. Number 12 played GO FISH.
  7. Everyone knows the final outcome, but the main story to some is the negotiation process starting from the beginning, which led to that final outcome. Go FISH.
  8. AJ got his info from his network inside the MLB industry.
  9. The only thing I’ve heard Cora say is that Story will be the SS. Con Man will most likely play the most at 1B, but outside of that I don’t know what the Alignment will be. If Masa is on the Roster, and that could be a if he’ll be the DH. He’s no use as a bench guy. I don’t really care what happens to Duran, or Abreu for that matter.
  10. I think this sums things up pretty well, and as one put it Brez was playing GO FISH, and others were playing HOLD EM. There was also no evidence that JH didn’t let Brez do a no trade, or any other restrictions. I’m not saying there wasn’t, but NO report of it.
  11. That’s the way I understood it too. I don’t know what Brez’s first offer was, but by the time he put the SO CALLED aggressive offer on the table it was to late anyways,
  12. I agree the Red Sox need a 3B/2B more than they need 4 OF. Like it, or not Masa will DH until he isn’t.
  13. Maybe Brez will copy, and read this.
  14. I just think if the Red Sox weren’t all in on getting Bregman they would have offered a better contract to Alonso. It was reported they actually met twice with Alonso, but I don’t know of any other reports them meeting someone else. Of course that doesn’t mean they didn’t.
  15. Not overvalued to me, but just another one the RED Sox didn’t get. The Red Sox met with him not once, but twice, so I think there was more than a little interest. I think the Red Sox had their sights, and money set on Bregman though, and didn’t want to have two long term contracts, so only offered 3 years.
  16. Yes HR can be blinding, and why not? They go up on the scoreboard right then, and there.
  17. Con Man was an add, but he’s not an Alonso, and I think that’s where the rub is. The Red Sox miss out, and don’t get the top tier FA, and that’s why some say JH is cheap. Also not signing the Lester, Mookie, and Bogeys of the world outside of Raffy of course. Cheap means different things to different people.
  18. I agree. It amazes that people don’t want to give up the likes of Duran, or Abreu. Saying he’ll get more AB against LHP doesn’t mean he’ll do well against them. Neither Duran, nor Abreu are going to make, or break the Red Sox season.
  19. Well said, and like I asked WHY to to the RED Sox have to settle?
  20. It remains to be seen if the Red Sox have a so called elite pitching staff. Audibled?🤔
  21. I disagree 100%. Why do the BOSTON RED SOX have to settle at all. Less learning curve? Why do we have to talk about that at all. Right now the Red Sox don’t have a regular 2B, or a regular 3B. WHY? Yes there are guys who can play there, but why do the Red Sox have to settle for only that. Two years ago the Red Sox went through 11 different 2B, and I don’t know how many last year. WHY? How many different 1B has played there the last few years? WHY? Logjams? WHY?🤭🤭
  22. I don’t know if anyone deemed him the 2nd baseman of the future. The Red SOX had used 11 different 2B the year before, and he didn’t, and still don’t really have a position, so they gave him a shot there. He’s not a good defensive 2B anyway, and after he stopped hitting after a good start he was sent down to Woo where he didn’t hit for a while there either, and never came back. He’s still doesn’t have a position, so who knows where he ends up on, and off the field.
