  1. Ah the $300M+/$30M/yr DH Devers Forever. Mookie was up for contract at the wrong time, and Devers was the last Man standing of the three. If Devers would have come up for contract when Mookie did, and vice versa most likely Mookie would still be here, and Devers would not have been forever.
  2. Just paddling his stats. Most importantly it was left out that the White Sox are underfeated.👍
  3. Casas is a slow starter too, and who knows what Story has left in his bat.
  4. From the reports I have heard Raffy has had no problems whatsoever with either shoulder since he reported to ST, and hopefully his swing is just out of whack. Adjusting to just DH will be a big adjustment also.
  5. Demand to play against lefties, or be traded? He’s a role player with Nothing guaranteed. Bye bye Felicia. 🙈🤭🙈. LMAO how much you worry about how many AB the Ref Man May, or may not get.
  6. I wouldn’t look to deep into Cora leaving Abreu in to face a lefty. If Ref Man would have been sent up to bat for Abreu then the Texas manager most likely would have brought Martin in to face the Ref Man, so that’s why Cora left Abreu in IMO. If Martin hadn’t been warming up it might have meant more.
  7. Ref Man most likely will get more squeezed as time goes on as Abreu might see more time against LHP.
  8. Masa was an overpay right from the start, but it’s not like the guy can’t hit. $18M+ for Masa, and $30M+ for a more expensive DH. What a deal.
  9. After starting out listening to Curt Gowdy, Ned Matin, and Ken Coleman the NESN both the last several years have been nothing but Yuckers IMO. Lou is better than Youk, and Millar though.
  10. Good opening day win. Solid pitching, good D for the most part, and Abreu.
  11. Agree 100% on McDonough.
  12. Good to see opening day here, and hopefully a good start to a promising season that looks that way on paper anyway, but the Red Sox are just a warmup for me to the COOPER FLAGG show tonight.
  13. I wasn’t talking about waiting contract wise, but what would be a good showing of what Crochet can do over a Full year.
  14. Didn’t Crochet’s people put out there what it would take to extend him before he was dealt? 30-35 starts with at least 175 innings would be a good start to see what he’s got especially come Sept-Oct.
  15. I hope the Yankees win 100 games this year. Baltimore too. That makes it more fun. 2021, which seems like ages ago was fun. I heard so many times how the poor, unfortunate Red Sox has to play in the tough AL East, which they have done since Divisions were brought in. When the Red Sox have been good they have been successful, and when they haven’t like the last three years they haven’t. Seems like the AL East is weaker this year, and that is not good IMO. The tougher it is the better it is to me, and more exciting.
  16. I don’t think most observers have just called the catch only decent, and certainly the circumstances the catch was made is not out there on a nightly basis either.
  17. RAF Man is not in JBJ’s league yet IMO. I’ve seen RAF Man make a couple better catches in Portland than I’ve seen with the Red Sox, and I don’t think it’s helped the RAF Man’s D by also playing IF. He said last year it would take him a few games to adjust tracking flyballs after playing games at SS.
  18. Agree, and like I’ve posted before Mayer lost valuable developmental time the last two years due to injury. There isn’t any big need with the Red Sox right now with Story at SS, but that could change in a blink of an eye with Story going down with an injury. More seasoning at Woo won’t hurt him a bit.
  19. 172 days on active roster, or injury list = 1 yr of service time.
  20. Everyone knew what Chapman can do when they signed him, but no one knows what Hendricks has left. I don’t think ST meant anything to Chapman, but it did to Hendricks.
  21. It looked like the Braves were going to try him in the OF as a last resort.
