  1. The last I knew Yoshida hadn’t even appeared in any games yet even as a DH since ST, so I don’t think the Red Sox are to intent on using his bat anytime soon.
  2. I agree mostly with this . There have been some twists and turns in this Raffy saga, and there will probably be more before it is all done. I agree a lot of people were calling for the Raffy move to be made even before last year, but not from Cora. If Cora was in agreement on Raffy trying 1B I wouldn’t be so much against it, but I don’t believe Cora is. Yes plenty of blame to go around.
  3. #1 I’m not a Cora fan, and have said before that I never would have hired Cora back in the first place after the cheating scandal. Having said that I do trust his judgment on if Raffy should try 1B, or not. No one is disputing that Brez is Cora’s boss, but if my theory is right that Sam, and JH just didn’t show up in KC to talk with Raffy, but to referee between Cora, and Brez as well. JH no doubt likes Cora, and kept him over Bloom, so we’ll just have to wait' and see who wins out here. JH is Brez boss. That’s what matters.
  4. I think the way it appears that Cora disagreeing I would disagree that Any GM-CBO would make that move. I would go with Cora’s judgement over Brez, or any other GM-CBO.
  5. For many like Boomer Scott, and Youk moving from 3B to1B was an easy move, but I just haven’t seen anything from Raffy that would lead me to believe he would be good at scooping balls out of the dirt, turning the 3-6-3 DP, or flipping the ball to the pitcher, and most of all why he would be a better short, or long term solution than Campbell, or anyone else.
  6. There were plenty of rumors about signing another 3B also. I think Cora more than anyone else knew what Raffy’s reaction would be about telling him he would no longer be playing 3B, so he was just biding time with the Bregman possibility. Just like now I think moving Raffy to 1B thing is all Brez, and not Cora, and that’s why Cora said he wasn’t even going to talk to Raffy about it, but Brez did, and that may be what pissed Raffy even off more. I may be way off base on this theory, but that’s what I’m going with. That’s why Raffy said that Brez should learn how to do his job.
  7. I believe Yoshida not being able to throw is just a cover story of why he’s not on the team. I don’t believe Yoshida will see the Red Sox OF again healthy, or not, and especially with Anthony waiting in the wings.
  8. I replied to your statement with what Cora actually said. I don’t think Cora really liked Raffy at 3B, but I do think he feels Raffy is fine at DH now, and unlike many others doesn’t feel Raffy should try 1B now, or maybe even feels that Raffy would not be that good at it unlike many others. I just don’t picture Raffy scooping throws out of the dirt, or turning the 3-6-3 DP.
  9. Well said, and as I’ve stated before I believe Story left his best bats in Colorado when he moved to Boston. It was good to see him get off to a good start, and has not only stayed healthy so far, but has played a good SS. His bat on the other hand is getting more holes in it everyday.
  10. I agree, but Yoshida is not out in exile collecting his $18M, because he is hurt (wink, wink). It’s because of the old roster construction thing.
  11. I’m replying to an actual interview that to me says it all about what Cora thinks about moving Raffy to 1B, so it’s not independent of Devers at all.
  12. I get it that playing different positions may help you get into the lineup like it has Campbell, but I definitely don’t think moving him around before he got to Boston, and now has helped him become an established big league 2B, which he at the moment he is not.
  13. Do you watch interviews? If you did you would KNOW that Cora said he had Not talked to Raffy about playing 1B, and said he wasn’t going to, so I don’t see except in your mind how Raffy has refused his manager’s request to play 1B.🤭
  14. Yoshida is not ready for what? To DH? Didn’t Yoshida DH in ST? Yoshida is not the DH in Boston, because Raffy is. I agree with you to put Campbell at 1B, because he doesn’t really have an established position anyway, and so far hasn’t really shined at 2B anyway, and bring Mayer up to play 2B. That’s an easy fix, and you Don have to make all those other moves.
  15. It has nothing to do with calling people liars, but it seems this story is growing more angles to it everyday. The point on Cora not talking to Raffy may have to do with a theory that Cora doesn’t agree with Brez that Raffy should try 1B, and thus that has created another angle to the Raffy situation, and that’s why Dam, and JH is in town also.
  16. Campbell doesn’t really have a position, and certainly isn’t an established 2B, so he could move over to 1B, and bring Mayer up. Easy peasy.
  17. The Red Sox did a lot of scratching, and clawing just to get the one run in 12 innings with three of those innings having a ghost runner to start. The last I heard the Red Sox were last in MLB in situational hitting, which pretty much says it all on having just a 500 record in a very weak League at that.
  18. I don’t know about that chat, but what caused the latest bru ha ha was what Raffy said after the game Thursday. The interpreter who was with Raffy at the interview works for the Red Sox, and after listening to a guest on BST Thursday night said who interpreted it said the interpreter cleaned up what Raffy said a bit. The fact that Cora hadn’t spoken to Raffy about playing 1B, and said he wasn’t going to leads me to believe Cora, and Brez have a different opinion on if Raffy should try to play 1B, or not, and that’s why the move hasn’t been made. Sam, and JH might not of just flown out to KC just to see Raffy, but get between Brez, and Cora as well. A full blown, self inflicted mess.🤫
  19. Playing bad D at your position makes you a bad teammate? Wow! The Red Sox must of had a lot of bad teammates the last two years, because the team has had 100+ errors, and pretty much led all of MLB in that category. No wonder they have played 500, or mostly below baseball the past 3 years, because they have had to many bad teammates making to many errors, so that explains it all LOL.🙈 🤭
  20. Like I said before Cora said before Raffy spoke up yesterday that he hadn’t talked to Raffy about playing 1B, and wasn’t going too, but Brez did, which leads me to believe that Cora, and Brez may have a different opinion about if Raffy Should try, and play 1B, or not. If Cora thought Raffy should try 1B I think he would have a better chance of convincing Raffy than Brez would IMO.🙈
  21. I should have posted how it was actually said, and used long term instead of foreseeable future, so signing a 10 year contract I would say long term would be at Least 5 years if not longer. Once again as far as Raffy was concerned when he signed that contract the promise was made by the Boston Red Sox, and it doesn’t matter if it was Sam, Cora, Bloom, Brez, or JH himself, and if they are still with the Red Sox.
  22. You can word, or phrase things anyway you want, but Raffy was told by the Boston Red Sox that he would be for the foreseeable future the 3B. I don’t think the Red Sox would have paid Raffy $300M+ as a 1B let alone a DH. Like Gasper said today there is plenty of blame to go around in this Raffy saga, and coulda, and shoulda been handled better by the Red Sox. Also the biggest reason Raffy was given the contract was, because as I have said many times before Raffy was the last man standing after Bogey, and especially Mookie did not get resigned. I find it interesting that Cora said he hadn’t talked to Raffy about moving to 1B, and wasn’t going to, but Brez has. Maybe Cora doesn’t want to move Raffy again, and this is Brez idea. Like Gasper said also if the Red Sox aren’t going to go out, and get a real 1B then just put one of the suspects there. Why should an established player like Raffy have to move. Campbell doesn’t have an established position anyway, and Anthony is not as good as the 3 outfielders the Red Sox have now on D. Brez is the one who signed the RAF Man to a long term contract, and not the kind you give a utility player.
  23. DFA Raffy then if he’s such a bad teammate and a detriment to the team. I don’t think he is being a bad teammate at all.
  24. Once again I’m with Raffy on this that Brez should learn how to do his job, and go out, and find someone to play 1B. You know like an actual 1B. It’s amazing that you, and others think the only move that can, or should be made is to put Raffy at 1B. It’s amazing that is not no matter how many times you say it.
  25. Exactly! Once again if you heard the actual interview with Cora you would know what was asked, and what was said, and then you wouldn’t have to ask questions about it,nand would have at least a little clue of what was actually going on.
