  1. Ouch. He looked so promising before his injury. He needs to get out of his head.
  2. I'm the last person who would be advocating for making changes, either with the players or the coaches. This offense should be good. I trust Cora. I think they'll turn it around fairly soon. At least I hope so. I'm just extremely frustrated with them right now, as I think we all are. They'll get it together.
  3. Jad mojo! We (the fans) need a win!
  4. That's the way it seems to work. I am usually stuck with the home team's feed. The Rays announcers are brutal, especially in games like last night's game. I almost don't want to watch.
  5. Typically, I don't care if an out comes via strikeout or another means. That said, there are situations where you absolutely need to put the ball in play. The inability of this offense to have a productive at bat is probably the most frustrating thing to watch. Early Red Sox 2025 stats: Productive out % - 25.4%, League average - 28.8% Getting a runner home from 3B with less than 2 outs - 51.3%, League average - 52.2% Advancing a runner from 2B with 0 outs - 29.0%, League average - 48.0% Surprisingly enough, the Red Sox were slightly above average with the first 2 stats last year, and just below average on the 3rd stat.
  6. Ugh. Same chit, different day. That said, they have to break out of this funk sooner or later. Hopefully very soon.
  7. I am very pleased with the work that Breslow has done. Guys like Gio, Fitts, Criswell, and others are my kind of pick ups.
  8. Maybe Betts over Devers, but I also wouldn't have given that contract to Betts. Or any player, for that matter.
  9. It looks like they're trying to pull the ball too much. Go oppo, young men, go oppo.
  10. Bello has been better than a lot of people give him credit for. I think that not having the pressure of being the ace of the staff will help. I'd like to see him be able to consistently go deeper into games. With regards to Crochet, I've said it before and I'll say it again, how refreshing!
  11. As an athlete, I would be upset with my own performance also. I'm guessing most of these players would be. A big part of a manager's job is knowing his players and knowing how they will react. One player who is moved down in the line up might use it as extra motivation to get his act together. Another player might benefit more from feeling like his manager trusts him enough to keep him in the line up where he is. I'm good with Cora's decisions.
  12. We seemingly had a hard time scoring runs at the Trop. Maybe we'll have better success at Steinbrenner Field.
  13. Score some runs offense, early and often. That is all.
  14. I love Devers, I'm glad that he's still a Red Sox, and I'm not worried about him. That said, I'd have never given him that contract.
  15. I completely get this sentiment, but it's a long season. Pulling Crochet was the right call, IMO.
  16. Thank goodness the Red Sox held on, but absolutely. Same with the previous game. That was on the offense, IMO.
  17. It happens far too often. Outside of a 4-game stretch from April 3 - 6, our offensive futility has been mind numbing. I'm still trying to come to terms with losing a series to the lowly White Sox, and barely avoiding being swept to boot. I hope this turns around soon!
  18. I don't think it's about loyalty so much as it is about not making big decisions based on 17 games. A manager does need to show his players that he has their backs, so in that sense, I guess it's about loyalty. But there needs to be patience.
  19. The K rates on this team are frustrating, and Story is right up there with those who need to improve their BB/K ratio. I was hoping we'd see an improvement this year on the strike outs, but so far, not so much. I realize a big part of the disappointment with Story has been his inability to stay on the field. But with that being the case, I don't think we've really seen how Story can contribute to this team. I'm a Story fan. I'm hoping that Cora and the FO will show patience with him through a hopefully healthy season.
  20. Duran needs to ignite the offense with one of his patented singles turned into a double.
  21. I didn't grow up caring about pitch framing, per se, but I did grow up highly valuing the defensive skills of a catcher.
  22. Wishful thinking on my part, but I was hoping that once we overcame the 1-4 start to get 2 games above .500, we would not see .500 anymore this season. Let's at least not go below that mark please.
  23. I'd like to see both Abreu and Casas play regularly against left-handed starters. That's tough to manage when you have guys like Refsnyder and Romy who need at bats too, and who hit LHP pretty well. At any rate, we should have a better offense against lefties this year than we did last year, last night's game notwithstanding.
  24. I know it's coming, but I'm still 100% against robo umps. Among the reasons for being against them is that the skill of pitch framing will no longer be relevant, depending on the extent to which robo umps are used Hurry back Wong.
