  1. My favorite holiday of the year, Yankee Elimination Day! Living behindenemylines lines you get to see the Yankee hats and t-shirts disappear. An act like you didn’t know when you ask, when is the Yankees next game. DaaaaaaaaaaaaaaYankees lose!
  2. With the passing of yesterday’s holiday (my favorite) YED (Yankee Elimination Day) it once again proven that you can’t win a championship without good deep pitching. The Sox need to do whatever they can to add solid arms to their pitching. You at least have to be in the conversation about Bauer.
  3. Pitching! Pitching! Pitching! Both starters and bull pen arms needed.
  4. Long term contracts of ten or twelve years are good for the first half and then the decline starts. So for the Dodgers it will be how many rings are won in the first six or seven years of it. It all comes back to the Sox not being able to produce their own young starting pitchers. Forces them to make trades (Sale) or sign free agents (Price) and have to pay too much to field a competitive staff. Thus not having enough money to sign Mookie.
  5. After tomorrow’s trade deadline we will find out. I would give as many as possible a look. If it about the future, why not see what you have.
  6. I think not being able to view his ABs during the game has gotten into his head. He is one to study his ABs and make adjustments during the game. Devers has mentioned this as well and he is struggling as well. There might be something to it.
  7. I agree with you 100%! Only trade 2 Bags if the deal is right.
  8. I agree. If X is moved then the Sox are blowing this team up. I would only move him if some team knock your socks off with an offer that couldn’t be refused.
  9. You can not hit your way to a championship.
  10. It’s hope you get the good Nasty Nate and then pray for rain. This year’s Sox is how important good starting pitching Is needed to be a contender.
  11. Verdugo is the only OF that Cleveland would take for Clevinger, and I am not sure we want to go there. Grant it he can pitch, but he makes BIG waves in the clubhouse.
  12. It would be nice if the Sox got lucky with one of these trades. The Spanks made a hand full of deals before last season and it seemed like they got lucky on everyone of them. Voit, Urshela, and Tauchman.
  13. He needs to be able to draft and produce effective starting pitchers before I call him good for the Sox. He did it in Tampa, so I hope he does it in Boston.
  14. Moreland’s production this season may bring back something of value in a trade. Solid glove, has been great this season starting against Righties, has some pop, and can be a defensive replacement days he doesn’t start. He is not the future so if you can get something of value you need to move him.
  15. Pillar is a professional hitter and gives you good ABs. I would put Verdugo leadoff and leave him there the rest of this lost season. He has the speed and some pop. See if can handle the responsibility. If he proves he can then you will know for 2021. Because everything that is done the rest of the season is for the future. I hope it wasn’t the pressure of hitting leadoff that has caused Benny his problems. The experiment of him hitting leadoff should be over.
  16. Workman a FA at the end of the season and could start to become expensive for a rebuilding team. With a rebuild starting there is no need for an expensive closer. Each of the four championship teams had a different closer, so when the Sox are ready to contend then there can invest in one if one doesn’t come threw the system. SP was needed, and the hope is they can catch some luck from what they got back from the Phillies.
  17. Hopefully, this so called reset does bring us pitching. You look at the current starters and you can’t say there is one starter you know what you are going to get from in 2020. An can we please draft and produce a starter or two. It would save throwing all of this money at the FA pitchers. Or trading half the farm for someone. There are teams around the league that consistently do this. Bloom was hired to this, so let’s hope it happens.
  18. I think you are dead on! The constant changing of signs by pitchers and catcher, including the wrist bands that all teams had, kind of shows that it was wide spread throughout baseball. Every team had the video replay room, they were all using it to some extent. There have been a few out spoken players, but for the most part players aren’t speaker out because they know their team is doing it. The Astros just took a little to far. I also have a question, why did the Yankees hire Beltran for last season? What was his position? Why did the Mets?
  19. Pitching wins championships! Sale - ERod - Eovaldi make a good postseason rotation, but you have to get there first. They can’t stay healthy. The even bigger question about Red Sox starting pitcher is why can’t we draft and produce a homegrown SP?
  20. At this point any dollars being spent need to be on starting pitching. Unless everything falls right (which it never does) 2020 will be a reset year. Hopefully, it won’t be a long summer watching the Sox SP struggle.
  21. Right now the Sox can’t catch a break. Hopefully, Sale doesn’t miss much time, and more importantly is that his arm is healthy.
  22. Sox needed a fourth outfielder that bats from the right side and Pillar came on the cheap. When healthy Verdugo will get most of the ABs in RF. With 3 lefty staring Outfielders this move makes sense. Puig would have been more expensive and may have become a problem if not getting enough ABs. Pillar contract is for just one year.
  23. This close to spring training most teams are set and don’t have the dollars to take on a 27 million dollar Betts contract. Add on top of that the 16 million for Price and it narrows your trade market.
  24. Or to get Red Sox Nation ready when Mookie is traded.
  25. It would be easier seeing CB pay the big$$$$$ to Mookie if so much money wasn’t tied up with the SP. Because of that I think Mookie will get traded this winter.
